One of the first mentions of celestial anomalies associated with the battles of the Russian army dates back to 1111. As the Russian chronicles testify, in the March days of that distant year, the heavenly forces twice helped the Russian soldiers in the battle with the Polovtsians:

"The Polovtsian heads flew, invisibly cut down, to the ground." The Polovtsi, when asked why they lost, having great superiority, answered: "How could we defeat you when others in the sky were traveling with a bright and terrible weapon, helping you."

A similar story happened in July 1240 during the historical battle of Prince Alexander Yaroslavovich with the Swedes, after which he was nicknamed Nevsky.

The elder of the Izhora land, Pelugsy, on the eve of the battle, observed an unusual sign: a terrible noise occurred at the sea and at dawn a nasad appeared (an ancient Novgorod boat-type ship), in the middle of which stood the innocently murdered princes Boris and Gleb, elevated to the rank of saints. They wore crimson clothing, while the rowers wore lightning-colored suits.

At the same time, Pelugsiy heard Prince Boris say: "Brother Gleb, lead the row, so let us help our relative Alexander." The head of the Novgorod sea guard immediately reported this to Prince Alexander.

Of course, hallucination is not excluded, but there is also something that is still inexplicable. After the victory over the Swedes, the Novgorodians, led by their prince, advanced along the banks of the Izhora River. And when the troops were in the middle part of the river, Alexander suddenly saw that the "regiment of angels" was moving across the sky … Soon he found many dead enemies.

Not without the intervention of heavenly forces during the Battle of Kulikovo in 1380. The head of the Russian guard on the Chyura River, a former robber Foma Katsybei, watched as two heavenly "bright youths" with their lightning-like weapons destroyed an entire "busurman" regiment with the words: "Who told you to destroy our fatherland?"

That same night, in the camp of Dmitry Donskoy, Vasily Kapitsa and Semyon Antonov watched as the holy Apostle Peter executed the army of Ethiopians, riding on horses and chariots. Moreover, before the execution, Peter asked: "Why did you come to destroy the flock?" And then he began to pierce them through with a rod. Those who had escaped fled, many of them drowned. And those who were afflicted by Peter were tormented on the earth from ulcers.

The witnesses of the miracle told Prince Dmitry about it, and he ordered to keep the secret. Until three o'clock in the afternoon there was such darkness that the battle began only at 6 o'clock in the evening and lasted three hours.

At about 9 o'clock in the evening, when the forces of the Russians began to dry up, the heavenly army, led by the Archangel Michael, came to their aid. "Flaming arrows" of the heavenly warriors mercilessly struck the Tatars, and this forced Mamai and his retinue to flee to the horde. The chase chased the fugitives to the Sword River, until darkness fell.

However, the heavenly host did not always interfere in earthly affairs. Quite often the matter was limited to "signs". So, in 1579, during Yermak's campaign to Siberia, Khan Kuchum more than once observed a bright cloud in the sky, which was then replaced by visions of a future battle. Moreover, all this was accompanied by appropriate sound effects.

The outcome of the battle was, as a rule, disappointing for the natives: they were in for a brutal beating "from a pillar of fire." All this, of course, did not raise the fighting spirit of the khan and his soldiers, forcing at times to evade operations "with a bad forecast" …

No less impressive is the imagination of the miracle over "Robozer" that happened in 1663. It became a harbinger of the Copper Riot, which was brutally suppressed by the tsarist troops.

On August 15, 1663, between 10 and 12 noon, a loud noise was heard, and from the north a huge flaming object with a diameter of at least 40 meters appeared in a clear sky, which, moving southward, began to slide over the surface of Robozer.

As the monks of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery, who observed this phenomenon, testified, two fiery rays emanated from the front of the object, and blue smoke emitted from the sides. After passing some distance over the lake, the body disappeared under unexplained circumstances.

However, after a short time, it reappeared about half a kilometer southwest of the place where it disappeared for the first time. The brightness of the body's glow gradually decreased until it completely disappeared. But after a while the same incandescent body, which became even brighter and, at the same time, more terrible, appeared half a kilometer to the west, and then, having faded, disappeared.

The total residence time of the strange body over the lake was about an hour and a half. Peasants sailing on the lake on a boat tried to approach him, but in vain: it was unbearably hot near the body.

The light from the body was so bright that one could see the bottom of the lake located at a depth of eight meters and the fish spreading away from the fire. Where the fire scorched the water as it moved, a brown, rust-like film appeared on its surface, which was later blown away by the wind.

An interesting document was found in the archives of the Russian Navy. The Dutch envoy Baron De-Bee wrote: "… On April 2 (13), 1716, on the second day of Easter, at about 9 pm, a very brilliant meteor appeared on the clear cloudless sky, the gradual development of which is described here."

The following is the story of the rapid appearance of two giant clouds and a brilliant comet, and their collision, reminiscent of a battle:

“Real smoke rose twenty degrees from the horizon, and the rays of flame cut it continuously in all directions, just as the battle of many fleets and armies would take place.

This phenomenon lasted for a quarter of an hour in a row in its most brilliant form, and then began to fade little by little, and ended with the appearance of a multitude of arrows reaching 80 degrees from the horizon."
