Blue hole is a vertical underwater cave located 15 km north of Dahab, right off the coast of the desert.
This cave is called the "Divers' Graveyard" or "The World's Most Dangerous Diving Site" for a reason. The underwater route, despite the visual scheme of its passage, took many lives.
The idea of the extreme route is to dive through the El Bells well and overcome the arch of the underwater reefs for the subsequent exit to the surface via a convenient wooden bridge in the Blue Hole. But by some strange coincidence, even experienced divers with professional equipment sometimes fell prey to the dark depths.
There is a legend that in immemorial times an emir lived in these parts and he had one daughter. When the emir went on military campaigns, his daughter indulged in orgies with local youths. And so that rumors about her depraved deeds did not leave the palace, the unfortunate young men were drowned in a bottomless pit. In the end, the emir still found out about the immoral behavior of his daughter and ordered the execution of the libertine. Then the daughter of the emir rushed into this very Blue Hole and her last words were: "I will still take for myself everyone who dares to enter the water in this place."
And if the legends sound fantastic, then the deaths of people are quite real. A memorial has been created on the shore in memory of the lost divers. However, due to the large number of accidents, it was forbidden to put name plates, as it frightened off tourists. Nowadays, ribbons and other memorable items can be seen at the memorial.

One of the miraculously surviving scuba divers said that he suddenly had a panic attack and complete disorientation in space. If it were not for the partner who arrived in time, he would also have added the sad statistics of deaths. According to the lucky man, this never happened to him, even on deeper dives.
Most likely, it is the sudden attacks that are the cause of the death of many divers, but why they occur here and not for everyone is a mystery shrouded in darkness. Perhaps the legend is not a complete fiction …
