Recently, we are increasingly frightened by all sorts of cataclysms: apparently, someone really wants to keep the people in fear.
Eruption of a supervolcano, collision with a comet, global warming, changes in the Earth's magnetic field. I would like to dwell on the last point from this list in more detail.
English physicist William Herbert, who lived in the XIV century, made a magnetic ball and, examining it with a small magnetic needle, came to the conclusion that the globe is a large cosmic magnet. Then he did not know how the planet Earth is arranged. And it's good that I didn't know.
Look at the picture familiar from childhood. We see in the center a solid core that floats in a molten substance.
It is this solid core that determines the location of the magnetic poles, as scientists explain to us. Moreover, the magnetic pole does not coincide with the geographical one, it is constantly shifting and is about to turn over. According to the same scientists, the magnetic pole has changed at least 7 times over the entire existence of the planet.
Until scientists have drilled a hole to the center of the Earth and proved the veracity of this theory, I will dare to say that this is complete nonsense. A body with a liquid inside cannot rotate in principle. Let's remember the simplest experiments with raw and boiled eggs, with an empty bottle and filled with water.

No matter how we try to reverse the polarity, nothing comes of it. So the Earth, like an arrow, is oriented in the magnetic field of the Sun. The same magnetic field determines the rotation of the Earth with a constant frequency - here it is, the eternal source of motion. The same magnetic field ensures the constancy of the orbits of all planets of the solar system.
Thanks to their own magnetic field, the planets have acquired the right to have natural satellites. Earth has one, Mars has two, Venus has no satellites - apparently, none of the asteroids flew. Jupiter has the most of them.
Planets without a magnetic field cannot have satellites, which is why scientists cannot launch an artificial satellite to the Moon, and therefore we do not have detailed images of the lunar surface and we cannot observe what is happening on the far side of the Moon.
In nature, nothing happens just like that, it is a perfect debugged system. And the polarity reversal, which “will kill all living things,” will not occur in the next thousand years, so you can sleep peacefully.
