Archaeologists were extremely puzzled when they found a strange creature in a medieval mound, and at some distance from it a gigantic horse in a herbal bath

In Nevinnomyssk, ordinary, in general, excavations of an ancient burial mound turned into an episode of the "X-Files". Archaeologists have found such mysterious artifacts that experts, exactly like Dana Scully in the series, denying all unscientific versions, scientific explanations, nevertheless, can not offer anything.

NTV correspondent Maxim Berezin reviewed the finds.

The name of this unique artifact was not invented by science fiction lovers, but by the most conservative scientists. In an ancient burial, opened during excavations, something strange was discovered - a ram skeleton with a human skull. Archaeologists could not find a more elegant definition than the human ram.

Anna Shvyreva, Department of Nature, Stavropol Museum-Reserve: “What is this man- ram ? That is, there was a combination of the skull of a young man under 25 and the torso of a ram."

At first, Sergei Savenko, one of the discoverers of the human lamb, had unscientific thoughts in his head: what if Stavropol archeology discovered an anomalous creature previously unknown to mankind? In order not to disturb the ufologists in vain, the skeleton was sent for examination.

Sergey Savenko, local history museum of Pyatigorsk: “There was one analogy, it is even geographically not so distant, this is the territory of Crimea. There was a burial of a man, the skeleton was almost complete, but the arms and legs were cut off somewhere to the elbow joints and the bones of an animal, presumably a goat, were attached."

Anthropologists have refuted all fantastic theories, but they did not reveal any of the mysteries of the Nevinnomyssky burial.

The mysterious burial is capable of stirring up the imagination of not only archaeologists. The era of the early Middle Ages is all that is known about it so far, experts do not have any information about the ritual itself, perhaps because such artifacts have not been found in the North Caucasus before.

By all other archaeological features, the Nevinnomyssk burial is quite typical of its era. The deceased was escorted to the afterlife, observing the necessary rituals. Weapons and utensils were found in the grave.

Sergei Savenko: “This is really some kind of unique ritual situation. Either it was a special person who needed to be buried like that.

From the very beginning, the adventures of the archaeologists of Nevinnomyssk acquired an anti-scientific connotation. Not far from the first find, the expedition accidentally unearthed the remains of a horse of incredible size. The war horse had a heroic height - almost two meters at the withers, and was buried with honors uncharacteristic for an animal.

Anna Shvyreva, Department of Nature, Stavropol Museum-Reserve: “For this horse, a special bath was dug in the ground. It was filled with grass, and the horse in this bath was lying on its back."

Scientists cannot yet shed light on the origin of unique artifacts. Someone from the distant past left an extremely difficult task.
