The humanoid Atlas deftly runs between the trees, while the SpotMini robot dog roams the office.

Engineering and robotics firm Boston Dynamics has released two new videos that showcase the new capabilities of the Atlas and SpotMini robots.

In the first video, the humanoid robot Atlas goes for a run around the yard and at the end jumps over a log.

In the second video, the robot dog SpotMini climbs up and down the stairs and also roams the office. To avoid obstacles along a given route, the robot uses a navigation map and cameras. The system is autonomous, and in the published video SpotMini moves around the office without any operator commands.

The Atlas robot was introduced by the company in 2016. He can walk on two legs, use his free hands to carry loads or climb vertical obstacles, and perform somersaults.

And in February 2018, Boston Dynamics showed the SpotMini robot, which can open doors despite human resistance.
