They appear in photographs and videos, and in everyday life they are often invisible. People tend to mistake them for the ghosts of the dead. But parapsychologists also have another version: these are entities from another dimension that live next to us.
Photo entities
Many mysterious incidents took place in an era before digital photography. For example, in 1964, Briton Jim Tumpleton and his family walked near Solway Firth in a deserted place. The father decided to photograph his five-year-old daughter. Imagine his surprise when a mysterious figure appeared in one of the pictures, peering right from behind the child's back!
The Cooper family from Texas was having a housewarming party. At the table they decided to take some pictures for memory. During development, it turned out that the frames displayed something similar to a human body, which either hung or fell from the ceiling.
David Lee from Maryborough, Australia took a picture of his pregnant wife with an old film camera. After developing the film, he discovered that a dark hand with fingers spread out on the woman's belly was lying. On the negatives, in addition to the hand, the shoulder and part of the body of the unknown person who was behind Sandra Lee were also visible. Subsequently, she recalled that at the moment of photographing her from the back, a strange cold was blowing, as if the wind was blowing from there.

However, sometimes something similar is recorded by digital photo and video cameras. Not so long ago, a photograph was made on the Web that a young mother took after bathing her baby. At first glance, there is nothing strange in the picture: just a woman, dressed in a summer dress, is standing behind the child. Except that the image was not very clear. But in reality there was no woman in the bathroom, and where she supposedly stands, there is a blank wall, the author of the photo assures.
Last year, a video in which a ghostly woman rescues a cyclist from under the wheels of a truck, "dragging" him to a safe place, caused a great resonance among Internet users. When watching another video, filmed in an abandoned apartment, the face of a little girl falls into the frame. But it is very creepy and scary, like in a horror movie.
More recently, a video appeared on the Web, which shows a man walking along the corridor and suddenly falls, and someone invisible several meters drags him by the leg on the floor. You can see in the video an obscure silhouette of a creature that attacked a stranger. The footage was captured by a security camera in a certain residential building. The author of the video reports that the residents of the house have repeatedly received complaints about the attacks of an otherworldly creature.
"Hidden" people
According to parapsychologist Heidi Hollis, there is a kind of supernatural entity that she calls "shadow people." These are the same people as we are, but only living in another dimension, sometimes in contact with ours.
In Indonesia, there are legends about the orang bunyan, which means "whistling people". The locals consider them to be something like forest spirits and are afraid. They cannot be seen. However, the drumming of the orang bunyan can be heard as they arrange their ceremonies. All orang bunyan are believed to have supernatural powers. They live much longer than ordinary people, as time flows differently with them than in our world.
Orang Bunyan come into contact with people not so rarely. They can steal human children, and sometimes they take adults with them. "Whistling people" can even marry them, but then a person leaves to live in their community and also becomes invisible to their former relatives. Sometimes you can turn to an orang bunyan for help, for example, to borrow dishes from them if guests come to you. Shamans can communicate with "forest spirits" during their rituals.
The entrances to where the orang bunyan live are marked with boulders that are revered by the local population as sacred. They come there with donations for the invisible and turn to them with various requests.
There are similar legends in Malaysia. There in hotels one of the rooms is always reserved for "special guests". However, an ordinary guest can also be accommodated there, but subject to certain rules. So, first you need to knock on the door of the room, and only then enter. If it turns out to be very cold in the room, you need to go out and ask for another number - it means that the room is occupied. If everything is in order, then you need to immediately turn on the lights and draw back the curtains on the windows. Before going to bed, you must put your shoes so that one of the shoes is turned upside down. If you have to sleep alone in a double bed, you need to put some things on the free half. Then orang bunyan won't bother you.
Similar spirits are found in Iceland. Researcher Magnus Skarfedinsson from Reykjavik has collected more than 700 testimonies of encounters with "hidden people", as they are called here. According to eyewitnesses, these creatures look like ordinary people, but in old-fashioned clothes. In everyday life, they also use antiques and tools.
Some of the evidence does not raise doubts about their authenticity. Thus, the founder of the Communist Party of Iceland T. Emilsson in his autobiography describes an incident that happened to him at the age of 14. Then he went to a distant pasture to drive the sheep. One of the lambs fell into a crevice, the teenager tried to pull it out, but got stuck himself. There was nowhere to wait for help. The boy understood that no one would bother until morning, but meanwhile it was getting dark and getting cold. And suddenly an unfamiliar girl's face bent over him. Before Emilsson was surprised, he miraculously ended up at the top.
The girl said that she lives on the Litenshtammer farm, and pointed to a house standing nearby on a hill. Emilsson wondered why he hadn't seen people living here before. And then his new friend told that she was … from another world.
“We are the kind you call hidden people,” the girl said. Then a man's voice from the side of the farm called her name:
- Katerina!
- I have to go! - the girl caught herself and walked up the hill with quick steps.
Then Emilsson came to this place more than once, hoping to meet Katerina, but he never saw her or the mysterious house again …
The story of Torlakur Steffansson from Skagfjordur is also curious. He lost his way in the forest in winter, froze and was already in complete despair when he suddenly saw a light behind the trees. Soon he went out to the farmhouse. The owners let him in. Steffansson asked what kind of farm it was, he was told the name - Heggstatir. The man was surprised - he had never heard that there was such a farm in the vicinity.
“We are what you call“hidden,”” they answered. - We are always here, but you do not see us.
Steffansson spent the night at the farm, and the next morning set off. Having moved three hundred meters away from the house, he looked around - and found that there was no farm there! Then he decided to return in his own footsteps. But it turned out that his tracks simply break off in the snow.
Otherworldly Priest
In August of this year, a mysterious episode was recorded in Missouri. 19-year-old student Katie Lenz had a serious accident. Her car was a heap of twisted metal. Katie survived, but the rescuers could not get her out of the wrecked car for an hour and a half. In the end, they decided to turn the Mercedes vertically, which posed a danger to the girl, as her body was crushed.
Suddenly, a middle-aged gray-haired man dressed as a priest appeared nearby. He began to read prayers, and then anointed the girl with oil from the bottle that he had with him. After that, Katie was safely removed from the wrecked car, transferred to a rescue helicopter and sent to the hospital. The girl received many injuries, but her life was out of danger.
When the head of the rescue team, Raymond Reid, wanted to thank the priest for his support, he found that he had disappeared. Subsequently, he did not appear in any photograph taken at the scene of the accident. In addition, the journalists of the local edition of The Blaze went around all the nearest churches with a composite of a mysterious priest, drawn up according to the testimony of eyewitnesses, but no one recognized him … Another alien from a parallel world?
