Recently before our very eyes a metropolitan hurricane roared, the most destructive in a century.
He claimed 16 lives. Collapsed trees and pillars, flying roofs and objects crippled another fifty passers-by, damaged hundreds of cars.
Then, in just one day, a third of the monthly norm of precipitation fell on Moscow, and the wind speed reached 25 meters per second. Then devastating downpours covered Ulyanovsk and Kuban, the Caucasus, Saratov and Kaluga - and almost the entire country.
Now Runet is full of horror stories. They argue that these are our enemies, and first of all the United States, used the so-called climate weapon. Versions are put forward one more terrible than the other.
And, of course, they remembered with horror the famous American complex HAARP, which ominously spread over 13 hectares of Alaska, and again they say that it causes earthquakes, knocks down satellites and warheads. The complex is capable of influencing even the consciousness of people, let alone flood Russia with rain!
WHERE THE ORIGINS OF THE VERSION?
Even officials are talking about climate weapons today. So, the other day, Senator Yekaterina Lakhova said that “… I agree with the experts who say that climate weapons have not been done here. It is known that with the help of climate weapons it is possible to influence the weather by means of special technologies, as a result of which there are hurricanes, tornadoes, hail, snow in June, fires and showers, all sorts of economic disasters.

It will be useful to remember that 15 years ago 91 deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation sent a request to the government. It is believed that the US games with the Earth's ionosphere have looked especially suspicious in recent decades.
So, the blame for the current rampage of our Russian climate is the work of the most famous and powerful of all existing weapons, that is, the HAARP ionospheric stand?
- The ionosphere is known to mirror the tectonic processes of the Earth. Here lies, apparently, the principle of the stand. This miracle technology from the United States can be the culprit for many climate disasters. True, there is also talk about a similar object "Sura", located in Russia, not far from Nizhny Novgorod, - says the climatologist, Doctor of Technical Sciences of the Russian State Technical University Vasily Stroganov.
Whether all of this is true or not, sometimes life itself refutes horror stories. So, sane people like to cite the example of former Iranian President Ahmadinejad. He furiously blamed Europe for the prolonged drought that covered his country, beat himself in the chest and swore that the destruction sent by the enemies would definitely last 30 years. But as soon as the prophet went out into the street, the rain poured down.
"Such as this summer, the weather is nothing extreme," commented Sergei Zenkevich, Doctor of Military Sciences and recalled: "We live between two ice ages, and such things may well happen …"
IS THERE “CLIMATE WEAPONS”?
It is known that any weapon that dramatically changes the weather is a terrible international scandal. After all, 40 years ago, the UN adopted a convention prohibiting any use of the climate as a weapon. It was adopted, by the way, on the initiative of the USSR, and the United States simply joined it. But it is far from a fact that today at least someone observes the old convention …
It is known that in the military sphere what could be called a climate weapon was once used - during the Vietnam War, the United States carried out Operation Popeye.
The pilots sprayed dry ice and silver iodide over enemy territory. The rain, which was not expected, washed out all the roads, and the guerrillas got stuck in the mud. It cost crazy money, and the effect was short-lived, like shooting a cannon at sparrows.
So even today, even if the opponents do their climatic intrigues in Russia, we are not painfully scared. And scientists are reassuring, saying that research on climatic effects can only be carried out on very small areas.
And to influence the climate on a global scale, enormous resources are needed. Who has them, as they say, extra to flood Russia with rains?
