Throughout the history of their existence, people dreamed of using all the power of nature to achieve various goals, including military ones. And only in the second half of the last century, these dreams almost came true. Scientists have concluded that cloud hypothermia can cause precipitation.

During the Vietnam War, the American army applied this theory in practice: during the period 1967-1972, the military sprayed about 5.5 tons of lead iodide and silver iodide over the jungle, which caused a threefold increase in precipitation: the rainy season lasted 45 days instead of the usual 30. Moreover There is information that the 1971 flood, which covered 10 percent of Vietnam's territory, was caused by these actions. The purpose of Operation Popeye, within the framework of which this spraying was carried out, was of a local nature: the need to blur the paths along which the Vietnamese guerrillas received help. But, despite the efforts expended, as well as the threat created, this goal was not achieved.

However, experiments in Vietnam continued. Scientists continued to work on climate change, and until 1983, research on the Stormfury project was carried out in American laboratories. But scientists have already tried to subdue typhoons and hurricanes. Initially, the goal of such studies looked quite noble, because tens, and even hundreds of thousands of people suffered from these strong winds every year. But given the enormous destructive power of typhoons, there was a very great temptation to use them for military purposes. Some, not very reliable sources speak of the success of the experiments. American scientists in 1969 redirected a hurricane to Panama, with which relations were rather cool. But the use of these technologies for some reason was discontinued, as evidenced by not only the destructive Katrina, but also many other typhoons, which swept the territory of the United States.

During the Cold War, the USSR, of course, did not want to lag behind the Americans in matters of advanced weapons. It is for this reason that in the 1980s, the development of a joint Soviet-Cuban program began, which involved influencing the wind. And even the 1977 treaty, which prohibited the use of such technologies, did not become a hindrance.

However, in addition to intergovernmental commitments, there were much more serious problems that hindered the implementation of programs for creating weather management systems - this is, first of all, an energy problem. The energy of a conventional rain cloud can be compared to the energy of an average nuclear warhead. To heat one cubic kilometer of air space to the required temperature, a very powerful power plant is needed. At the same time, to talk about the global impact on the weather, you need to learn how to influence thousands of kilometers of the atmosphere.

As a rule, when talking about climate weapons, small projects like Popeye or Stormfury are rarely mentioned. Most assume something that can bring the whole world to its knees, and that is certainly associated with a conspiracy theory.

Among all the developments that could potentially be used to influence the climate, the first place is rightfully taken by the American project - the "High-frequency Aurora Research Program" (HAARP). Development of the project began in the 1960s, and only in 1997 the project was officially launched.

The complex, consisting of laser locators, antennas, magnetometers, processing equipment and an incoherent radiation radar, is located in Alaska. Outwardly, it very much resembles a large number of television antennas that are directed into the sky. The complex was recently closed despite spending $ 250 million on construction and $ 2.5 million in annual upkeep.

Almost nothing indicates the fantastic capabilities of the complex, except for its location on a military training ground and enhanced security. However, this does not prevent some experts from claiming that antennas can form "bunches of energy" in the atmosphere and move them anywhere in the world, causing typhoons, floods, heat waves, hurricanes and other natural disasters. Perhaps, in recent years there has not been a single cataclysm that would not be attributed to the impact of the program.

However, even theoretically, the project could not be used as a weapon due to the existence of objective facts. Its power is clearly not enough for global impact. It won't even be enough to cause a negligible atmospheric effect. In addition, the closure of the project in 2014 once again suggests that HAARP is not a secret climate weapon. Agree, who will close the successful program with which you can control the weather?..

The program was officially created to study the behavior of auroras and the ionosphere. Antennas could indeed affect small portions of the ionosphere, and thus scientists were able to conduct scientific research. For some unknown reason, the results of the work of this complex are classified.

Similar studies of the ionosphere were carried out in the Soviet Union. So, in the middle of the last century, the construction of a similar complex began in the Kharkov region. Since 1954, his collaborators have been studying oscillations of the electron concentration in the ionosphere. The station looked rather unusual - a large saucer hanging in the air. This gave rise to many rumors around her. However, another similar complex, located in the Nizhny Novgorod region, "Sura", has become much more famous. The station includes 144 antennas with a total transmitted power of 750 kW.

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Sura station has practically not been funded. And the money that is allocated is barely enough for the most necessary expenses. Meanwhile, the station is still operating. Officially, research is being carried out on the regularities of the generation of artificial electromagnetic radiation of ionospheric plasma and artificial turbulence in different frequency ranges when exposed to powerful radio waves.

Judging by this, the version of the work on the creation of climate weapons may not be without grounds. Another proof of the military theory is the fact that during the Soviet period the financing of this project was carried out through the military department. However, if such experiments were carried out, then we can talk about basic work on the creation of climate weapons in the future, because the power of the station is several times less than its American version.

Much time has passed since the Vietnam War, and technology does not stand still. Precipitation stimulation projects created by modern specialists have become much more effective. So, in particular, the Dyn-0-Gel project in the bowels of an incipient hurricane can absorb moisture and turn it into a gel. The only thing is that for processing a front measuring 20 by 20 kilometers, it is necessary to use 38 tons of substance, moreover, it must be scattered in the immediate vicinity of a natural disaster.

On the other hand, this substance, of course, provided sufficient effort is applied, can cause severe flooding or drought. Currently, the use of this substance and other “climatic” substances for military purposes has not been officially confirmed. But this in no way prevents the creation of more and more effective and powerful tools that can affect the weather. So, for example, not so long ago in the media there was a message that American scientists are developing a laser installation that can cause lightning and thunderstorms. However, military use in this case is very doubtful, since the energy of the laser beam dissipates in the atmosphere very quickly, especially if the atmosphere is thunderstorm and humidity is high. Scientists are trying to solve this problem by creating a double laser beam,in which a more powerful beam envelops a lower intensity beam.

At present, it is not yet known how scientists are going to bring their idea to life, but the US military department has already invested $ 7.5 million in the development project. It may well happen that it is this development that will make it possible to create climate weapons.

However, at present, the prospects for creating climate weapons are still very vague, and it is at least inappropriate to talk about a real threat of climate weapons without solving the energy problem.

But besides the climatic, there is also biological weapons. In recent years, a lot of information has appeared about him, sometimes incredible and even fantastic. Some scientists believe that this terrible weapon has been being developed for several years in the American CIA laboratories and, as expected, will be able to act selectively - by the color of the eyes or skin, or by other signs.

In addition, some experts claim the existence of secret laboratories in which genetically engineered viruses of the most dangerous diseases - Ebola, Zika, and even AIDS - are created. People themselves create deadly viruses and microbes, thereby pushing humanity towards death.
