By the middle of the century, winter temperatures in Russia may rise by five degrees due to global climate change. This is stated in the report of the Center "Antistihia" under the Ministry of Emergency Situations, RIA Novosti reports.
"The greatest warming will affect winter: in the period until 2020, in most of the European territory of Russia and Western Siberia, the temperature will increase by one to two degrees, and in the middle of the 21st century, an increase of two to five degrees is predicted throughout the country," the report says. …
The center noted that in the main part of Russia, in comparison with the average indicators, the warming will be sharper. The damage from it can amount to 900 billion rubles. The rise in summer temperatures will be less pronounced and will be one to three degrees by the middle of the century.
In October 2017, a professor at the University of Amsterdam, Louise Fresco, named countries whose climatic conditions could improve as a result of global warming. According to her, the rise in temperature will have a beneficial effect on the climate in Russia.
