A married couple Lisa and Adrian Shepard from the United States had a daughter, who became the twin sister of girls born 11 years ago
According to the Daily Mail, Riley Shepard was born from an embryo frozen in the last century. She promises to be an exact copy of her sisters Megan and Bethany.
Lisa Shepard and her husband got married in 1994. And in 1998, they decided to visit the Midland Fertility clinic for in vitro fertilization after Lisa had been trying unsuccessfully to get pregnant for a long time. Several fertilized eggs were successfully "implanted" in the expectant mother, and several were frozen.
After a while, the couple had twin daughters, and when they were 9 years old, the parents thought about another child. They went to the clinic again. Last month, little Riley was born - an exact copy of the two sisters.
“We didn't know if it would work or not. And we agreed with the doctors that the chances were slim. And they were already ready to accept defeat and come to terms with the fact that nothing would work out. But it happened and now we have the third happy child in the family,”says Lisa.
Medical experts say that there have not yet been such cases when twins were born with such a difference in age.
