At the beginning of the 19th century, the baker Maxim Filippov came from the Kaluga province to conquer the capital. And soon his signature rolls, pies and cakes became a favorite delicacy of Muscovites. By the end of the century, the confectionery had grown into a company with millions of dollars in turnover and an extensive network of stores and coffee houses throughout the country. Maxim's grandson Dmitry Ivanovich made a significant contribution to the development of the family business. He ditched it.
During a concert in Petrovsky Park, the millionaire noticed a beautiful gypsy woman Azu in the orchestra. And such a passion gripped both of them, which is neither in a fairy tale to say nor to describe with a pen! Filippov even built an estate for his beloved on the site where the ancient city of Przemysl was once located. The two-story house became a cozy love nest for the couple, where they enjoyed each other for hours. Aza was ready to give her soul for Dmitry and broke off relations with relatives. And he only promised to divorce.

The female happiness of the gypsy did not last long. Filippov soon began to lose interest in the black-eyed beauty and came to the estate less and less often. And after a while Aza found out that her beloved was having fun with other girls. Unable to cope with the resentment, the gypsy, naturally, having previously cursed the whole family of the traitor-womanizer, jumped from the observation tower.

The affairs of the famous bakery were bursting at the seams and, in order to save the family business, Dmitry Ivanovich declared himself bankrupt. Three years later, 53-year-old Filippov died. Before his death, in agony, he whispered something like "Aza".

They say that at dusk the ghost of the inconsolable Aza wanders along the alleys of the park, and if you listen, you can make out her sobs coming from the house during the day. According to local legend, a man who came to the “Baker's House” on February 15 (this is Dmitry Filippov's birthday) will have an unforgettable erotic adventure, but he will not leave the building alive.

More than a century ago, a German woman Elsa married Arshak Gukasov from Baku, the owner of a popular confectionery in the city. For several decades, the owner of the estate was Aleksey Zheleznov, a merchant who made his fortune by selling gunpowder and dynamite, a philanthropist and a very respected person in the city. In the estate he lived with four children and his wife Maria Efimovna. She was a beautiful woman, but, to put it mildly, strange: she avoided people, often hysterical, sat for hours at the fountain and suffered from kleptomania. Maria did not hesitate to steal, and Alexey then went and coaxed the merchants, persuading them not to publicize his wife's bad habit.
