The new algorithm analyzed millions of scientific articles and found undeservedly undervalued scientists. Moreover, artificial intelligence eliminated the injustice - wrote articles about them on the English-language Wikipedia. The American company Primer told about the results of its research on its website.

The Quicksilver algorithm, developed by the company's researchers, "read" about 500 million scientific articles and news and found authors who are often cited, but there are no articles about them in the English-language segment of Wikipedia. There were 40 thousand of them, although they work as actively as those about which there are articles in the Internet encyclopedia.

Based on other similar articles, Quicksilver wrote the text himself about Teresa Woodruff, a biologist at Northwestern University (USA). There was no article about her on Wikipedia, although in 2013 she became one of the most influential people according to Time magazine. This short article, created by artificial intelligence, highlights Woodruff's scientific advances, such as 3D printing mouse ovaries.

According to the developers, the text created by the machine is not inferior to the articles written by people, and in some ways even surpasses them. For example, the algorithm does not forget to provide links to sources (in the text about Teresa Woodruff, the source is indicated after each sentence) and does not miss important facts. Meanwhile, in the course of the study, it was found that in the 30 thousand articles about scientists on Wikipedia there is not all the important information - this was also noticed by Quicksilver.

The developers say that the created algorithm will be able not only to write articles about undeservedly underestimated scientists, but also to correct existing articles - update information, monitor the relevance of links, and so on.
