Researchers have found several lines made of stones in the south of Peru. Two of them, when viewed from a certain point, pointed to a 5-meter pyramid. The lines were also aligned with the Sun at the winter solstice.
This was found out thanks to three-dimensional modeling using special software. The geoglyphs were located at a distance of 2 km from the pyramid. Their length was about 500 m. The pyramid had a flat top and was made of adobe bricks.
Several artifacts have been found near the pyramid, including remains of cloth, shells and ceramics.
The pyramid was located not far from the settlement, in which about 1,000 people lived. The structure was built around the 600's. BC. to 50 years. AD The lines of stones, according to scientists, were created between 500 BC. BC. and 400 BC AD
In addition to these two lines, about 50 more similar structures of stones were found near the pyramid. The longest of them reached a length of 1.5 thousand m. Together with these lines, more than 200 small cairns were discovered. The largest had a diameter of 15 m. Similar pyramids are widespread throughout the world, however, as a rule, they are burial structures.
The rock pyramids in Peru did not have human remains. Apparently, the lines and pyramids were associated with nearby settlements and the pyramids located in them. To date, four ancient settlements have been found near this place, two of which contained large pyramids. An ancient burial mound was discovered in one settlement.
