Seven months ago, 14-year-old Mihir Jain from Delhi (India) weighed 237 kg and was considered the fattest boy in the world. The enormous weight did not allow him to lead a normal life: the guy was only able to lie down, eat, sleep and sometimes play video games. We had to do something about it!

Doctors suggested the only way out of the situation: an operation to reduce the stomach. But for this Mihir had to first go on a strict diet - otherwise the operation could not be carried out. Realizing that this was a real chance, Mihir pulled himself together and stopped eating huge portions of rice, chips, vegetable curry and ice cream. Carbonated drinks also had to be eliminated.

With incredible efforts, he managed to lose weight! And it's time to go under the surgeon's knife.

The boy underwent an operation to reduce the stomach in April this year. Today, seven months after surgery, he weighs 140 kg - 100 kg less than before.

Now Mihir can walk by himself, without assistance. Recently, he and his parents went to the cinema for the first time in his life - to the new film "Venom" with Tom Hardy in the title role.

But this is how he was last new year, when he still weighed 237 kg and could not even stand on his feet for more than a minute.

At the age of five, Mihir weighed 80 kg and continued to gain weight. His mother believes that it is not only the wrong diet that is to blame, but also the drugs

At the age of five, Mihir weighed 80 kg and continued to gain weight. His mother believes that it is not only the wrong diet that is to blame, but also the drugs.

According to Mihir's mother, when the boy was five years old, he was already diagnosed as obese. The doctors said that surgery would be needed in the future. Then the child was still too young, and he was prescribed medication. But these drugs had side effects - Mihir became lethargic, sleepy and did not stay on his feet well.

Further it gets worse. Peers went to school, and Mihir stayed homeschooled. He lay on the bed all day and ate. The guys played in the yard, but he could not go anywhere and stopped communicating with everyone with whom he was friends in childhood. I just got upset and angry.

Mihir's parents say that they went for a consultation about stomach reduction surgery back in 2013. The doctor then wanted to see the patient, but the boy "could not leave the house." As a result, they reached right up to December 2017 - and only then, already weighing 237 kg, with diabetes, hypertension and breathing problems, Mihir was taken to the hospital for examination.

Dr. Pradeep Choubey of Max Hospital explained that Mihir must lose weight first. For three months on a protein diet, the boy lost weight to 197 kg, and then he underwent surgery.

Now I feel very good. I can't believe I managed to lose that much. It was difficult, but it was worth it, says Mihir Jain. “I was determined to follow the doctors' orders. Now I have the strength to move on. So far everything is going great and I will continue in the same spirit until I get back to normal."
