Russia's most famous weapons manufacturer has unveiled a 13-foot-tall assassin robot controlled by pilots inside it.

The Kalashnikov Concern presented a modern bulletproof robot at the Army-2018 fair in the Patriot Park near Moscow.

The robot, called Igorek, is still in development, and its creators don't want to reveal all of its functions until they're done.

So far, all that is known about the "controlled bipedal walker" is that it weighs 4.5 tons and can reportedly hold and move objects, including weapons, with its grips.

The cockpit behind the glass panels of the robot allows people to sit and control the robot from the inside.

Pilots are protected from bullets, debris and any other dangerous items behind armored glass and metal shells.

The robot is designed for "engineering and combat solutions," according to the Kalashnikov website. The company is best known for producing the AK-47, which is the most widely used assault rifle in the world. It was developed in the 1940s.

“We understand that there are crawler and wheel-driven robotic vehicles, we also understand that there will be a demand for anthropomorphic automatic moving systems.”

The robot has been compared to AD-209 (Enforcement Droid series 209) from the Robocop series.
