Now the "psheks" have their own pyramids … psya krev!

This striking discovery was made by archaeologist Agnieszka Matuszewska from the University of Szczecin in collaboration with Marek Schiller from Debno during a research and conservation program. Huge megalithic structures (already habitually called "tombs", so scientists breathe more calmly! Although they really could have been used in a similar way, because single burials in them were found) were discovered near the village of Dolice. In an area overgrown with a dense old forest, they were extremely difficult to find. Therefore, the find (which came as a complete surprise to all researchers) was made only now and only thanks to luck and new technologies …

The earthworks are made in the form of an elongated triangle surrounded by large megalithic stone blocks. They are 150 meters long, 5-15 meters wide, and about 3 meters high. In small areas, archaeologists have found fragments of pottery and other artifacts. The burials were created during the heyday of the culture of funnel-shaped beakers in the 5th-3rd millennium BC. e.

The discovery was made using modern technologies such as digital elevation models (DTMs) and 3D laser-scanned mapping of the area. These methods allowed researchers to accurately determine the location of not only previously known objects, but also to find new buildings. Scientists are currently trying to restore ancient structures and protect the forest areas in which they are located.

Megalithic structures in Poland have survived only in forested areas. The rest were destroyed as a result of agricultural development. Since the Middle Ages, Poland has been the main granary in Europe. In addition, in the 19th century, local residents used similar structures to build their homes or outbuildings.

It should be noted that the opening in Dolitsa is not the only one. During this expedition, four more graves were discovered in Ploshkovo. However, the most famous buildings are located in Sarnov and Vetshihovice.

Some scientists hint at a direct connection between these structures and those in Stonehenge: there is a hypothesis that the ancient Poles were in fact Celts …
