Almost all Ukrainian maniacs are mentally healthy people, with the exception of Anatoly Onoprienko, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Sergey Tkach is a completely mentally healthy person.

The "boyar maniac" Yuri Kuzmenko has signs of an easy debility, but this only gave him charm. He is a tall, handsome man, athletic build, speaks slowly, as if imposingly. He has what is called animal magnetism.

There was a typical case. When we arrived at the Kuzmenko colony, a young expert girl was with us. Yuri was sitting in a cage, looking at the floor, talking sluggishly. And suddenly I noticed a girl sitting behind us with the investigator. As a substitute for him, he literally blossomed, stood up, straightened his shoulders and looked her straight in the eyes. And the girl … fainted!

These qualities worked more than once when he raped, but did not kill. There are many unresolved, latent crimes in which women simply did not report violence (and some may have enjoyed themselves). A unique operation called "Aunts" was carried out, when women-policemen, dressed in civilian clothes, walked through the villages, communicating with possible victims of the rapist. After all, not everyone was ready to tell the district police officer about the violence. And to his questions, the victims were silent, denying everything.

But many told the women without a protocol, with tears. But this did not go to court, although it later helped to catch the maniac. Now Kuzmenko does not repent, but regrets very much that he was caught. His words: “I behaved wrong. There was no need to kill …”That is, he would have been just a rapist with hundreds of episodes and, perhaps, would have committed rape to this day.

And how are they caught, by the way? Is it a coincidence or a pattern? Maybe there is a scientific approach? It turns out there is. We are talking about this with Police Colonel Yuri Irkhin, a well-known expert psychologist in the country, who heads a department at the National Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. As we wrote earlier, Yuri Borisovich by position and vocation is engaged in the psychology of serial killers, sex maniacs and other serious criminals. He and his colleagues create psychological portraits of the wanted villains, which go a long way toward capturing them.

- We (and there are only five of us, this kind of specialists per country) are developing a unique technique called marker, - says Yuri Irkhin. - It allows you to make such a portrait, and with a high accuracy of coincidence with the real criminal. And practice shows that this is so. For example, the case of the so-called boyar maniac Yuri Kuzmenko. When he was caught, there was an identikit compiled from the words of the surviving victims, as well as our psychological portrait on 36 pages (reconstruction through the psychological profile of the offender, his behavior, features, etc.). And when he was caught, our portrait resembled a living Kuzmenko more than the aforementioned composite (the coincidence of our portrait was 98%).

We have already created a methodology for narrow specialists with complex terminology, now we are working on a methodology for an ordinary investigator. The character, criminal handwriting, the degree of cynicism and a number of other signs are taken into account. Moreover, 50 percent of the character of the offender can be reconstructed based on the nature of the bodily harm inflicted on him. The method and place, the setting of the crime, the nature of the victim's choice, the circumstances, the alleged motive, the technique of inflicting damage are also very important … Moreover, no matter how cynical it sounds, the more episodes of the crime, the more trace information and the better the compositional, psychological portrait … For example, the image of the Khartsiz maniac has already developed so much that I would probably recognize him in the crowd if I saw him. Another thing is where and how to catch him, this is the business of detectives, whom we help.

Promotional video:

It was the same with Kuzmenko, we imagined him well. Therefore, they deliberately went out to him. The only time he killed with a knife is just an exception. His usual method is to strangle the victim. He is a pedant, and very squeamish, neat. All this was taken into account in his psychological portrait. And, of course, the surviving victims are a real mine of information. Moreover, we suspect that Yuri also committed latent crimes that are still hidden from us. After all, they did not always end with the death of the victim.

AGE DOES NOT PLAY ROLE

Such cases were not only Kuzmenko, there are, perhaps, and the Khartsiz maniac. True, the stories of the surviving victims do not always accurately correspond to reality. I have already talked many times with V., who talked this maniac out, and he left her alive. I think that the real information in these stories is 20 percent, the rest is her fantasies, which, naturally, were superimposed on the trauma she experienced after the attack of a maniac. Nevertheless, something has been established reliably, including using a polygraph. This maniac has a very specific type of choice of victims.

And even age does not play a special role. If you look at the victims from behind, they are very similar in shape - even schoolgirls, even adult women. The hair color and the technique of committing a crime are also the same, including necrophilic actions, manipulation of a dead body. And not just with a dying victim - the maniac waits for the body to cool down, which is 4-5 hours. And only then does he perform his necrophilic actions, and there is a completely specific ritual. There are occasional deviations, but basically the maniac adheres to the ritual. Based on the above, we can assert that the recent murder of a girl in Alchevsk (a suspected guy was detained for him. - Author) was not the work of a Khartsiz maniac. The deceased had a completely different figure, and there was no act of necrophilia. This is definitely not him.

In order to catch the Khartsizian maniac (and he is the only one in Ukraine among those who have not yet been caught with signs of necrophilia), various measures were taken, round tables were held with scientists and practitioners, and even conversations were held with similar criminals, but already detained. There are 20 such maniacs-necrophiles in our country, who are caught and are serving their sentences, at large, I repeat - only Khartsiz. As for just serial killers, there are many of them. After all, several murders are already a series.

MANIAC IS GIVEN … HANDS

There are murders that go beyond the format of human understanding. For example, the severed heads of the judge's family in Kharkov, or Vladimir Klimenko in Kiev, who scalped his partner and sister this summer. Motivation is the clear debut of paranoid schizophrenia, here psychiatrists will figure it out. And we were faced with another question. The fact is that Klimenko declared that he was the founder of a new sect, hence his actions. We had to answer the question: is there such a sect or is it an invention. We analyzed for 2 weeks and came to the conclusion that the sect is a figment of his imagination. All its members are women scalped by him.

Hands of Kuzmenko. Except once, he always strangled his victims, although now he thinks that in vain.

All the maniacs say that, they say, there is a click, and he turns into a beast. At the same time, something like a fog or a mesh of a different color stands before your eyes. But what precedes this? Maybe changes in the atmosphere, or in the biochemistry of the maniac himself? Physiologists believe that it is the frontal lobes of the cerebral cortex that secrete an enzyme that turns an ordinary person into a maniac.

This is a question that needs research. And in this sense, it is a pity that Onoprienko died, who could have provided extensive material for study. However, there were some documents, photographs, in particular, of the maniac's hands. The fact is that "Early diagnosis of propensity to manic behavior by hand configuration" has been developed. That is, according to the prints of papillary lines on the palms, one can assume whether he is a maniac or not (a certain pattern definitely speaks of a tendency to violence and aggression, fortune-tellers, by the way, also use this). And there are already positive developments in this area. Physiologists suggest that this is due to the hormonal level: the maniac's body produces something that changes the structure of the papillary lines of the hands.

MANIAC WILL NEVER STOP

We must distinguish between serial killers and maniacs. The former commit murders in one way and with one motive. For example, out of self-interest, like the Borotbenko brothers (Anatoly and Alexander killed in Kiev and the region, sentenced to life. - Author). But if there is some kind of addiction, for example, getting pleasure from an act of violence, without which the killer can no longer live, then this is a maniac. However, not necessarily a murderer, there are sexual maniacs who do not kill, but only rape.

But there is a fine line: such a maniac has aggression when dissatisfied, and then he can turn into a killer. Other factors may also lead to this. For example, my colleagues and I are categorically against the chemical castration of sexual maniacs, pedophiles and the like. If he is so castrated, in order to regain the thrill, he will go to kill and enjoy it. These things are not cured. Such people should not be shot, but they should be isolated from society and studied. The maniac will never stop.

There is a concept: a classic maniac. This is a person who commits murders, based on mental pathology with a sexual connotation, receiving pleasure from this of an ecstatic nature (from the word ecstasy). And an obligatory component is necrophilia, that is, getting pleasure from contemplation of a dead, dying, agonizing body or manipulating it. But necrophilia does not include cases of dismemberment of the body to hide the traces of a crime. Maniacs get pleasure in different ways. It has already been said that the Khartsizsky waited for the body to cool down, and, for example, Kuzmenko took pleasure when the victim wheezed before death, and therefore choked.

Therefore, he carefully prepared so that he was comfortable, so that there was silence. He could spend three days in ambush, waiting for the victim. He is a hypersexual maniac, he was not interested in the age of the victim, the main thing was that it was a woman (he also attacked very elderly, in fact, old women). Despite the fact that he had a wife, there was a concubine … And for the Weaver, for example, the main thing was that the victim was immobilized, not moving. And whether she was alive or not, he was of little interest. Another thing is that he tried not to leave alive, who could then become witnesses.
