Chancellor at the behest of the president
Germany found itself in a difficult position. They had a huge unemployment rate, reparations, which, according to the Versailles Treaty, must be constantly paid, so in addition, the crisis of 1929 began, which swept the whole world. At that time, Paul von Hindenburg was president. He appointed Heinrich Brüning as chancellor, who did not depend on parliament and was exclusively subordinate to the president. This new chancellor introduced austerity to the people for the first time. At the same time, Hitler was the head of the National Socialist Party of Germany. In just a year, he increased the number of party mandates from 12 to 107. For comparison, the communists during this time achieved an increase from 54 to 77 people. As a result, Hitler's party accounted for just over 30% of parliament. It became impossible to pursue an active policy. If the communists joined forces with the social democrats,they would have gained an advantage over the Nazis, but Stalin, who supervised the German communists, flatly forbade this. For some unknown reason, he considered the socialists to be his worst enemies, and the Nazis, on the contrary, almost allies.

In the 1932 elections, the Nazis won 37% of the vote, making this party the most influential. But this was not enough for Hitler, he wanted even more power. This man was really smart, as he understood that more could be achieved only with the support of influential officials. Having a decent money capital, success in the election campaign and a small army of soldiers, he submitted a demand to appoint himself to the post of German chancellor. At first he was refused, but in 1933 he was still given the opportunity to take this post. On the way of Hitler, there was only one problem - his party members held only two ministerial posts out of the existing eleven. He failed to use the active and persistent Hitler for his own purposes.

Along with the level of the dictatorship, the unemployment rate grew. The main mistake of the population is that instead of protecting their freedom and rights, they decided to seek economic and political stability in the country. For the sake of achieving the goal, people were neutral about oppression, and then open humiliation. If it were not for the victory of the USSR, it is not known how the dictator's rule would have ended, because the Germans could not get rid of this "burden" on their own.

The Jews got the most. At the time Hitler came to power, there were almost half a million of them in Germany. They considered themselves patriots of the country, fulfilled all their civic duties, observed the way of life of the Germans and were respectful of culture. At first, they tried to expel them by economic and political means, that is, non-violently, but with the arrival of Hitler as chancellor, attacks on Jews swept across the country, and on March 9, the first concentration camp was already built, designed specifically for imprisoning people with Jewish roots. A boycott was declared to the Jews, soldiers were constantly on duty near the shops and enterprises that belonged to them. All officials and employees of state structures with Jewish ancestry were dismissed in disgrace. It even got to the point that books written by Jews were publicly burned. The apogee of the oppression of the Jews was the adoption of the Nuremberg Laws, according to which they were completely deprived of their civil rights.
