Vitaly Kaloev, a 62-year-old resident of Vladikavkaz, and his wife Irina had twins, a son and a daughter on December 25.

Kazakh journalist Ksenia Kaspari, the author of the book about Kaloev, "Collision", announced this on her Facebook page.

Later, the information was confirmed by Kaloev himself, telling reporters that both the children and their mother feel fine. When asked about how the children were named, Kaloev replied that they are still choosing.

He also said that they did not know that there would be twins and even more heterosexual. “It was a surprise for us,” said Vitaly Kaloev.

Some Internet users, when discussing this news, saw a mystical coincidence in the event. “The sky heard and returned both children to him,” “Incredible, he got both his son and daughter back at once,” they wrote in the comments.

In 2002, Kaloev's first wife Svetlana and their two children - son Konstantin and daughter Diana - flew on a Tu-154 from Moscow to Barcelona. Above Lake Constance (Germany), due to an oversight of the Swiss air traffic controller Peter Nielsen, their airliner collided with a cargo Boeing. All 69 people on board the Tu-154 died, including 52 children.

Despite the fact that the guilt of dispatcher Nielsen was proven, no penalties were applied to him. He also did not apologize to the families of the victims.

Such an outcome greatly outraged Vitaly Kaloev, who was in the strongest shock and did not stop mourning his deceased wife and children. Immediately after the disaster, Kaloev flew to the scene of the tragedy and took part in the search for the bodies of the victims. He himself found his wife's body.

In his house, Vitaly Kaloev arranged a memorial for his deceased wife and children. He did not touch children's toys, did not change anything in the children's rooms. On the beds of the son and daughter there were their photographs, clothes lay.

On February 24, 2004, Kaloev came to Peter Nielsen's house and began to demand an apology from him, pulling out and showing him photographs of his wife and children. However, Nielsen, according to Kaloev, hit Kaloev on the arm and knocked out the cards, which fell to the floor. After that, Kaloev, in passion, attacked the dispatcher with a knife and stabbed him 12 times, killing him in front of his wife and three children who had run up.

Later at the trial, Kaloev said that he did not remember the details of how he struck and did not admit his guilt in the murder. At first he was given 8 years in prison, but Kaloev was released already in 2007. In Ossetia he was greeted as a hero.

Many admire the act of Vitaly Kaloev, calling him a real man and a noble avenger. Others called him a killer. The disputes around Kaloev attract more and more people's attention to this story every year.

Several documentaries were first made about the Constance tragedy, and recently two feature films were released, in the center of which was the story of Kaloev. On April 7, 2017, the film "Aftermath" was released in the USA, where Arnold Schwarzenegger played the main role.

And on September 27, 2018, Sarik Andreasyan's feature film "Unforgiven" was released in Russia, in which Dmitry Nagiyev played the role of Vitaly Kaloev.
