You know, when I hear that some rich friend of mine bought another house in Spain (Greece, Italy, Montenegro …), I remember the words of A. Klizovsky, the author of the book "Fundamentals of the World of a New Epoch": "Only the most people who are backward in their development. A person who is developed and sensitive cannot be satisfied with the ideals of earthly life alone. He demands something more from life, and since he does not find this more in life, then, having tasted the fullness of being, he quickly becomes satiated with it and is ready to leave her anywhere, even into nothingness, which, to great regret, he often does"

PARADISE IS WHERE SOCRATES

Many of us are sure that people who lived 2-3 thousand years ago were almost troglodytes. Well, they didn't have computers, toilet bowls, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, cars. But there were no atomic bombs, ballistic missiles, chemical and bacteriological weapons. There were no modern medicines, but the environment was clean, and even then they were treated well. For the intellect of the ancients, read Plato, Aristotle, Marcus Aurelius (the emperor, by the way) or Seneca (a former slave, as they say). Some modern intellectuals search libraries and almost the Internet for the works of Socrates in the hope of getting wisdom from him. Useless occupation! Socrates never wrote anything, but passed on his knowledge to his disciples orally. So if you want to know about the thoughts of the ancient sage - read Plato's Apology of Socrates.

Our intellect is like a flux (comparison of Kozma Prutkov) and cannot be compared with the intellect of the enlightened ancient Egyptians, Jews, Greeks, Romans, Chinese … Yes, we know how to press the buttons of a microwave, vacuum cleaner, TV or fax, well, if we have mastered the latest models the same toilets. But for the most part we have no idea about ourselves, about our own kind and about life, except for its purely biological aspects.

Why? Because the efforts of most of us are aimed at making … money. Our ancestors - Christian brothers - were also engaged in doing, but great, for they did not make money, but themselves, in order to become closer to God. In ancient times, the enlightened nobility preferred friendship, albeit with a poor, but intelligent person, to acquaintance with a rich man. It was not usurers and bankers who were in vogue, but philosophers. An example of this and proof is the history of Alexander the Great, the ruler of half the world, revered as a god. He came to express his respect not to a powerful priest, but to the impoverished philosopher Diogenes, who lived in a barrel. "Ask what you want!" - Alexander told him. "Move away, do not block the sun," the sage replied.

ABOUT YEHU AND GUYGNGNMOV

Scientists around the world have recognized the fact that two or three hundred years after the creation of the scientific works of Aristotle, the inventions of Archimedes, the theories of the state system of Plato, the science of that time reached such heights that it could well make a colossal leap towards the era of radio, space flights, computers and nuclear energy. I could, but I didn't. Why?

Perhaps the reason for this was the emergence of Christian morality, prescribing not to create earthly treasures, despising the desire for power and wealth, condemning aggressiveness, envy and vindictiveness. The most powerful powers of antiquity - the Eastern and Western Roman Empires, precisely because they were under the influence of Christian morality, instead of "building up muscles" and improving technology, delved into the study of the intricacies of human nature.

But technological progress cannot be stopped. A new round of technology development began. True, in the 18th century all kinds of mechanical "toys" aroused only curiosity, and in the 19th century, technical inventions became the main lever for the development of production. Therefore, in the 20th century, especially in its second half, technization and mechanization took on frightening dimensions and forms. And although it is hard for me to say this, because I myself am a techie, today it is the technogenic development of mankind that really threatens the existence of our civilization.

This is the creation of means of mass destruction of people; irresponsible biological and genetic research, hastily introduced into life and threatening the emergence of diseases that can kill humanity. The emergence of mad cow prions, for example, is unambiguously associated with the fact that our meat industry has made cows cannibals. All their lives, the cows were vegetarians, and then, in pursuit of profits, they began to feed them flour made from the remains of their fellows.

Chemicalization, toxicity, computerization with an eye to creating artificial intelligence - all these are blows, one more powerful than the other, on the branch on which we are sitting.

But technology by itself, without human participation, cannot do harm. This means that the main problem and concern for humanity is the person himself.

The great English satirist Jonathan Swift showed the true face of people devoid of humanitarian aspirations: evil, greedy, stupid, but cunning half-monkeys - "yahu". He opposed these monsters to the noble huygnhnms - people whose ancestors were horses. If you have not read the adult version of Gulliver's Travels to the Country of the Guingngmas, read it immediately! You will recognize many of the popular characters on our TV screen among the Swift "yehu".

Once our brilliant compatriot, scientist Vladimir Ivanovich Vernadsky dreamed of a man's transition to autotrophy, when he would not have to raise and then kill animals for his own food. A person in an autotrophic society will be able to receive food directly from the environment - air, water, minerals. After all, no one in nature, except for man, devours his own kind.

How to educate an intelligent, humane, noble person? Education reform is indispensable here. It is possible to make people learn how much is twice two, but how to teach to distinguish Good from Evil? It is no secret that other students, or even university graduates, cannot reliably connect a few phrases, let alone write something competently … By and large, all our present and future troubles are from poor education and useless upbringing. It's time, it's time for us to think about how to return to that person whom God intended. We will be reborn. Let us finally engage in truly great work.
