In China, the country's first robot patrol was presented at a high-tech exhibition, Xinhua reported.
Employees of the Defense Science and Technology University of the People's Liberation Army of China and a number of private companies worked on the implementation of this project.
This robot, which the developers called AnBot, was created in order to help police officers maintain order in crowded places. We are talking about airports, train stations and even metro stations.
With a height of 149 cm, its weight is 78 kilograms. This robot can reach speeds of up to 19 kilometers per hour. Whereas in standard mode, it moves at a speed of 1 kilometer per hour. Without additional recharging, it can serve for 8 hours. When eliminating riots, this robot will use electroshock devices.
The robot will be able to patrol the territory offline. He will also be able to monitor the situation around him. If the robot detects human cries for help, it will give a signal to the police.
The robot, the developers say, can be equipped with sensors for monitoring environmental pollution. It can be used to search for explosives and chemicals.
