Do you know what an out-of-body experience is?

For those who are not yet familiar with this topic, I will explain that out-of-body experience (OBE) is a state when a person is outside his material body in full consciousness and retains the ability to perceive and act as if he remained in the physical world - with a few exceptions. It can move in space (and time?) - both slowly and at a speed that clearly exceeds the speed of light. He can observe what is happening around him, participate in various events and make informed decisions based on what he sees and does. He is able to penetrate physical matter: walls, steel sheets, concrete, earth, ocean waters, air. He can even enter a nuclear reactor without the slightest effort and any risk.

Such a person is able to be in the next room without bothering to open the door. He can visit his friend, who lives three hundred miles, or, if he pleases, explore the moon, solar system and the entire galaxy. On the other hand, he gets the opportunity to penetrate into other realities, only partly amenable to perception and explanation within the framework of our ideas about space and time.

Ps

Interesting material about out-of-body experiences is collected in the book by G. Gabbard and S. Twemlow. First of all, the typology of this phenomenon attracts attention. In the book we find a summary of responses to a special questionnaire for 339 people who experienced this condition. It turns out that the experience of out-of-body experience was preceded by physical relaxation (79%); mental calmness (79%); dream state (36%); meditation (27%); emotional stress (23%) and a number of other extravagant states to varying degrees. The experience itself is in 94% of cases perceived as more real than a dream. It should be noted that in the experience of the out-of-body state, some manifestations were also recorded that are typical of the so-called altered states achieved in meditations: experience of a change in time (33%); seeing brilliant white light (30%);stay in a dark tunnel with white light at its end (26%). Very special manifestations also draw attention to themselves: the desire to return back to the body (54%); the ability to pass through objects (50%); awareness of the presence of non-physical beings (37%); feeling of presence of a leader or assistant (26%), etc.
