In the mid-1950s, an Indian-born American nuclear physicist (who later took the name Maharishi Mahesh Yogi) became seriously interested in yoga and studied with an Indian Guru for thirteen years. He also spent two years of seclusion in the Uttarkashi cave to study the secret oriental technologies.

In 1955 he returned to civilization and, by 1957, had developed his theory of "Transcendental Meditation". In the 1970s, he launched the World Plan to distribute it and train several thousand specially trained instructors to do so.

The popularity of Maharishi in those years was enormous. In 1968, his students were artists of the legendary group "The Beatles" [5]. And although the religious scholars of the Russian Academy have characterized him as a sectarian; and his teaching was banned in many countries [4], personally for me the experiments and life of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi commands respect. Since, in addition to "Transcendental Meditation", he discovered "Flying Yogis" for the world. Searching for "Flying Yogis" on the Internet, you will see videos of people fluttering through the air in "lotus position" (like butterflies).

The international flying yogis competition was originally planned to be held in India. But the expressiveness and lack of discipline of the Indian public disrupted the meditative processes of the competitors. And did not allow them to rise into the air.

The second attempt (in complete silence) already took place in 1986 in the city of Washington (USA), where a public competition of 20 "flying yogis" was held.

Competitions were held in three disciplines:

- flight altitude (record 62 centimeters);

- flight length (record 183 centimeters)"

Parapsychologists explain the jumping of "flying yogis" with the manifestation of the phenomenon of levitation. It has been proven that only by contraction of muscles it is impossible to throw your body out of the “lotus position” even by 20 centimeters. Yes, and a person does not have muscles capable of providing such a movement.

In a 1971 study at the University of Iowa (USA), it was found that during the "bounce" yogis do lose weight. This increases the pressure and pulse rate (up to 100-120 beats per minute), and stops breathing. And the electroencephalogram records amplified impulses in the brain at low frequencies from 2 to 40 vibrations per second

“We usually look at stable results,” says Dr. Pamela Stacy, “those that people can replicate. For 10 years I have seen three long hovering in the air (Fig. 1). And each time the phenomenon was accompanied by strong arousal of the subject."

When performing special pranayama with visualization, the energy rises up and lifts the body into the air. Many people have the ability to levitate, for this it is only necessary to make efforts in daily practice [3].

And the first training stage for yogis' flights was "Transcendental Meditation".

DEVELOPMENT OF A MEDITATION USING AN INDIVIDUAL Mantra

The author of this article was trained in "Transcendental Meditation" at one of the retreating seminars of Maharishi's students. When, barely knowing Russian, a Croat looked at my aura and picked up an individual mantra for me. As a qigong specialist (with 15 years of experience), I was a little annoyed by the pomp of this 2-day event, which could have been done in 30 minutes. And the need for a special secret (which they demanded), I did not notice there either.

The instructors reported sound mantras directing the energy "from bottom to top" for some practitioners. For others (again in secret) with a top-down direction.

And what I strongly disagreed with was that, like other sectarians, his followers argued that the Maharishi's path was "the only correct one."

The next day at my institute in the classroom on "traditional medicine" I tested my students, identified their chakras with weak energy [1, 2]. And he selected similar mantras for them, without any "Vedic knowledge", the ritual of initiation, "the science of creative mind", etc.

Those students who have already completed the courses of "Transcendental Meditation" and could compare the power of the energy flows built by both mantras - reported that the one that I developed and gave is more powerful.

Analyzing my many years of experiments, I came to the conclusion that there is no point in testing patients, calculating mantras, testing them. As in practice, all my students had no more than 3-4 varieties of mantras. People are very stereotyped in terms of their energy, so the mantras are very similar.

Mantras for directing energy flows "from bottom to top":

- RIAS-S-Sh-Sh-Sh …

- RUE S-S-Sh-Sh-Sh …

- RIE S-S-Sh-Sh-Sh …

At the same time, the combination of sounds "S-S-Sh-Sh-Sh" must be performed for a long time, drawn out, paying attention and filling the upper part of the head with these sounds.

Mantras for directing energy flows "from top to bottom":

- SNEU-U-R-R-R …

- SNAI-I-R-R-R …

- SNAU-U-R-R-R …

The combination of the last sounds “U-U-R-R-R; I-I-R-R-R”should be performed for a long time, drawn out, paying attention to the lower body and tailbone.

These mantras must be tested and two are chosen that a person can comfortably recite internally, while relaxing as much as possible. One for the direction of energy flows "bottom-up"; another "top-down".

These will be your individual mantras, for supplying energies to the upper body (to the head for mental work) or to the lower part, for healing. You need to do 2-3 times a day, for 2-5 minutes at home (in silence) or in nature, away from other people. Exercises before bedtime are not recommended.

The supply of energies to the upper part of the body should be an order of magnitude greater than the direction of flows downward (all week "up"; on Sundays - "down").

You sit in a comfortable chair (your spine is vertical), close your eyes, relax and repeat the chosen mantra to yourself monotonously and smoothly. At the same time, visualization is very useful: when energies are supplied to the upper part of the body, you vividly imagine that the lower flows of energy rush to the upper part of the head.

Try to provide yourself with "emptiness of consciousness", when, apart from the internal sounds of the mantra, nothing remains in your brain.

Such 2-5 minute meditations will help to clear your energy channels, accelerate recovery of the body, as well as unload your brain, reduce stress (and, as a result, reduce the risk of psychosomatic diseases).

Since meditation using an individual mantra is vaguely reminiscent of "Transcendental Meditation", then contraindications will be taken from the same place: it is necessary to obtain permission from a psychiatrist for meditation for persons suffering from mental illness. On my own behalf, I would add the organization of daily monitoring of my condition for people with high blood pressure, as well as with malignant tumors of the last stages.
