The boy, with two types of cancer and three types of infection, was preparing for his own funeral when he faced another challenge - the news that his body was miraculously healed.
Several years ago, Deryn Blackwell was diagnosed with leukemia (blood cancer). No sooner had the schoolboy and his parents recovered from the shock, than 18 months later, doctors shocked them with the news that Darin had developed another type of cancer - sarcoma from Langerhans cells. Specialists told the family that the only hope for the boy's salvation was a bone marrow transplant.
In March 2013, Darin's parents moved from Wotton to Bristol, where the first transplant took place, and several more transplant attempts were made a few months later.
However, even surgery, chemotherapy, and potent drugs failed to stop the two cancers from progressing. Moreover, during the treatment, the boy was infected with infections, as a result of which the tissues on his fingers began to gradually die off.
“My son survived only thanks to constant injections of antibiotics, but doctors warned that he would not be able to fight two types of cancer and three types of infections. Then I looked at the pale Darin with black lips and realized that I needed to follow the example of my own child - to start preparing mentally for his death, - recalls the mother of the schoolboy Callie. - When we accepted this thought, the son said that it was the best day, because he found peace of mind and was finally able to control his life. He said he was looking forward to continuing his journey, as if he were talking about an adventure."
The inexhaustible optimism of the operated dying teenager attracted the attention of many British celebrities who began to visit him in the hospital and make his most cherished dreams come true, including driving a Ferrari and Aston Martin.
In December, the doctors interrupted the boy's magical vacation with the news that he had no more than a week left and it was time to say goodbye to his family. Darin accepted the news of the end of life with humility and began planning his own funeral.

So, he decided that he would be brought to the crematorium in the same hearse as Winston Churchill, to the sound of the hit "Move Your Feet", and in the coffin he would lie in a suit with a pink mohawk on his head. According to the boy's scenario, relatives were to meet him in fancy dress.
Fortunately, his plans never materialized - after four years of struggle, Darin's numerous ailments suddenly disappeared.
“In mid-January, we were saying goodbye to our child when the son accidentally ripped off the bandage from one of the affected fingers and saw that it was completely healed,” says Callie. - The doctors who examined Darin were completely bewildered, as he managed to overcome cancer and infections. Moreover, after the last bone marrow transplant, all the cells have engrafted. Experts characterized the son's case as impossible.
This is truly incredible: two months ago we were preparing to cremate him, and now we were told that his treatment was over. True, the incident stunned not only the medical community, but also the son. It was easier for him to consider himself dying and go to the door wide open to another world, but recently it slammed shut right in front of his face. Now he himself has to get used to the idea of miraculous healing."
