NASA has released new images from the Moon. You can view them on the website of the University of Arizona (Arizona State University), which works with a camera mounted on a probe, which is now in lunar orbit (NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera -LROC).

One of the pictures shows that a very large stone has moved along the surface of the moon. And left a characteristic mark. The cobblestone either rolled or crept. It happens on Earth. And nothing like this had ever been observed on the Moon before.

When did the cobblestone travel? It seems that the other day - the traces look very clear. University experts, however, believe that something disturbed him … millions of years ago. They made out small craters, which in some places "clogged" the trail of the cobblestone. And this indicates that the event happened a long time ago.

Experts cannot say for sure, but they believe that the trail was left 50 to 100 million years ago. But no more. Otherwise, it would have already been erased under the influence of the solar wind.

What made the cobblestone move? Aliens who visited the moon in the distant past? Maybe. But there is also a less fantastic assumption.

The cobblestone could move itself. After all, if you look at the surroundings - in a larger picture, you will find out that the trail was left on the slope. The slope is in the Schiller crater. That is, it looks like the cobblestone has rolled down, stopping on a level and flat surface. Putting forward this hypothesis, scientists admit: they say, we do not know what exactly knocked the cobblestone from its familiar place. Maybe a moonquake from an impact in the vicinity of a large meteorite. Or a direct hit from a small one.
