The British Ministry of Defense has released data on UFO sightings in the country, writes The Daily Telegraph. So, according to official information, in 2008 the British witnessed 285 UFO sightings, which is twice as many as in 2007, when 135 cases of such phenomena were recorded
The department considers only those cases that, according to experts, may threaten national security. Most of the evidence is not recorded in the archives of the ministry.

The documents, declassified by the Ministry of Defense, record the time and place of the UFO appearance, as well as a detailed description of the object. For example, one of the witnesses said that on February 12, 2008, not far from Westminster Palace, he saw a "spaceship" in the sky, which emitted green, red and white light. The object was stationary for an hour and a half.
Some descriptions are more detailed and specific. For example, a witness from Blackpool, Lancashire, who saw a UFO on September 8, 2008, claims that there was an object in the sky that resembled a package of chewing gum. “The UFO was black and emitted a pale orange light. It was about 45 meters long and 15 meters wide,”the publication quotes the materials of the Ministry of Defense.
One of the leading British ufologists, Nick Pope (Nick Pope) said that he considered the number of UFO sightings in 2008 phenomenal. “There were some very interesting cases. For example, in the summer, the British witnessed six phenomena at once in one day. Moreover, residents of different parts of the country watched the unidentified objects. According to eyewitnesses, these UFOs had different shapes and forms,”Pope said.
Recall that in May 2008, the UK government published reports of officials who witnessed UFOs. Previously, these documents were kept at the Ministry of Defense. According to the ministry, air traffic controllers, pilots and police officers most often encountered unidentified objects.
