The inhabitants of Foggy Albion are known for their reverent attitude towards ghosts. They respect them and try not to bother them, and when selling a house, they always proudly tell new owners about their presence. In the southeast of the country there is an unusual settlement, which is popularly called the “village of 12 ghosts”.
Plakli village
Special architectural and other differences from many other villages, at first glance, are difficult to grasp. However, it was Plakli who became famous as the center of "mystical tourism". It receives millions of travelers every year. Seeing fantastic inhabitants is the dream of many lovers of the unknown.
The locals are already accustomed to 12 ghosts and live in harmony with them. According to ancient legends, at least a dozen phantoms have found shelter here, which periodically make themselves felt. Restless souls can be seen in the area where people who have become ghosts were overtaken by death.

"Tricks" of a dozen ghosts
Once a group of specialists-researchers of mystical zones visited the village. The purpose of the visit was to expose the "tourist center". A day after the start of the study, a "hurricane" of a huge number of flies hit Plakli.
It is noteworthy that it was the beginning of winter and the air temperature was about zero degrees. Flies were literally everywhere, and no insect repellent worked. After the scientists left the village, the flies abruptly disappeared.
Another "trick" of the mystical inhabitants is also interesting. A carriage drawn by four translucent horses appears a couple of times a year on the road that connects Pluckley to Multman's Hill. Interestingly, the carriage is visible and completely material. After one of the daredevils who looked into it disappeared, no one dares to approach it.
What ghosts can you meet?
Often on the outskirts of the village pasture you can meet a colonel of one of the military units. The fact is that there used to be a forest on this territory. A man convicted of embezzlement hanged himself there and now walks around the field in circles.
There is also the spirit of a local gymnasium teacher who committed suicide out of unhappy love. In the dark, he can be seen on a laurel tree, where he took his own life.
Near a massive oak tree, one can observe the execution of a group of robbers, which took place at this place two millennia ago.
In the central part there is a phantom of a clergyman - a woman who took poison and a working quarry, on which ore deposits fell.
At the bridge across the river, you can meet smoking gypsies. In this place, she, accused of witchcraft, was burned alive. Those who meet her assure that she invites passers-by to tell fortunes on her hand.
The image of a miller appears regularly before a thunderstorm. Popular rumor says that it burned down in a fire.
A phantom of a young noblewoman, often called the "lady in white", strolls along the main square of Plakly. Her relative, a lady in red, can be found nearby - in the Saint Nicholas temple. It was here, in the basement, that the woman was buried.
In England, the mystical population is recounted annually. Newcomers are added to the list and those about whom there has been no popular rumor for a long time are removed. The local population believes that ghosts are absolutely safe. They can scare an unprepared person, but never harm.
