As a result of the studies carried out on the condition of this man, who wished to remain anonymous, he is experiencing gradually increasing "severe headaches - his head is literally bursting." The pain reaches its peak and lasts another 10 minutes during explicit sex scenes.
"The intensity of the headaches is so high that the man has to stop watching," wrote researchers at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in New Delhi in a paper published this month in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, a peer-reviewed sexology journal.
As follows from the article, neurologists recommended that a man take about 30 headache tablets half an hour before watching the movie - in this case, he will not have to stop watching.
Scientists have discovered a strange pattern - headaches do not occur during intercourse or masturbation, they only appear when watching porn films.
In an interview with ABC News, Dawn Buse, assistant professor of neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and head of the behavioral medicine department at the Montefiore Headache Center in New York, commented on the case: "This guy is interesting because he only watches porn and doesn't have a sex life."
According to ABC News, the man, who works as a software engineer, was examined by neurologists and found that he was otherwise completely healthy. Brain examination revealed no abnormalities, and no family history of migraines.
So far, scientists have not figured out what causes headaches.
