In the State of California, America, on the road west of Las Vegas, the Death Valley National Park is quite wide.
It received this name from the first US settlers who arrived in this area to search for gold.
And, not taking into account the fact that Death Valley is famous for the deaths of several dozen gold miners who never had a chance to find such a coveted metal, the park deserves the title of one of the most beautiful and mysterious places in America.
The main attraction of this intermountain hollow is the mysterious Valley of "living" stones that somehow move along the ground. In the past, there was a lake in this place, which dried up under the scorching sun many centuries ago.
The reservoir left behind a cracked clay bottom. It is on this bottom that huge stones, weighing up to 100 kilograms each, as well as medium-sized cobblestones and miniature pebbles “walk”, leaving deep traces behind.
In the valley, stones are pleasing, falling from a small hill located nearby, and after that they begin their journey along the clay bottom of the disappeared lake. The evidence of the movement of blocks in the form of traces can be several tens of meters long and remain intact for decades. The stones themselves "travel" infrequently - once every few years. But no one has yet been lucky enough to see firsthand how this miracle happens in reality.
It is worth noting that not all boulders move, some of them still remain motionless. And the stones-travelers "go" not only straight, but can often change their direction, which even more mislead scientists.

A huge number of hypotheses have been put forward on the origin of this phenomenon. Some scientists confidently report that stones simply slide down slippery clay after precipitation. Others believe that the boulders glide over the ice that binds the land during the winter season. And still others say that the stones are moved by the wind.
There is also an opinion that magnetic waves influence the activity of stones. Everything would be fine, but in all these situations, the direction of the blocks would be unchanged. In view of this, all assumptions collapse to dust due to the frequent change in the trajectory of "living" stones. The boulders seem to "scatter" in different directions.
Experts to this day cannot explain the reason for the formation of the phenomenon from a scientific point of view, although research works carried out several times in this place indicate that the "movements" of stones were noticed already in 1972 and continue to this day.
