Among the western forests of Canada, sometimes there is a section of forest called "Witch". As a rule, you can stumble upon such a place in early autumn. Despite the fact that the trees usually have time to throw off most of the foliage, the visibility in the witch forest leaves much to be desired - the autumn fogs practically do not leave the strange place and often the restless ghost of an old woman wanders in them.
There is a forgotten legend two centuries ago about the witch Shayu, who drew her strength from human suffering. The old woman did only evil: she poisoned the cattle, then sent a disease, or even went out to settlements in the guise of an animal, which promised only trouble.
The frightened villagers hired hunters with their last money. When a deer came out of the forest once again and began to bleat like a ram, the hunters followed him and no one else saw them. Ruining the cunning witch was not easy.
Only 20 years later, the Indian tracker, after a strange ritual, was able to find the location of the witch's dwelling. As it turned out, the old woman lived in a dugout and the hatch was carefully disguised with withered leaves. An angry crowd of people burned down the witch's dwelling, covered it with earth, and the place itself was sprinkled with holy water.
Shaya, taken by surprise, was hanged, and her body was set on fire and thrown off a high cliff. Before the noose was tightened around her neck, the old woman said in Latin the phrase translated by the present priest as: "You have deprived me of my home in the forest, but now the forest will become my home."
For a long time about the evil witch was not heard, until the children, picking berries in the forest, in horror ran to their parents shouting "witch, witch!"
As it turned out, the ghost of a witch is still found in woodlands. She lost her strength and became a completely helpless wandering spirit. All she can do is scare. Most often, a witch appears in mushrooms growing around, which later became known as "witch's rings".

In 2007, frightened American tourists barbecuing in an autumn forest called the police over a woman in rags watching them as she miraculously disappeared behind the trees and appeared in completely different places. Police officers David P. and Kyle N. witnessed this mystical phenomenon. The witch disappeared as unexpectedly as she appeared.
The Canadian police witnessed several more similar appeals, but they were about radically different places. Hunters say that the witch began to avoid people, but occasionally in the thickets of the forests you can see her frightening silhouette. The witch does not appear in the same places after being discovered, so the Witch Forest is not a permanent place, but only a section of some forest in the country where the ghost currently lives.
If you will be in the forests of Canada in the fall, then be careful. Undispersed fog, mushroom circles and an inexplicable sense of fear are the main signs of a place where one can encounter Shaya's restless soul.
