In China, more and more people are filming and seeing strange creatures in rivers, lakes or forests. Whether this is due to the massive proliferation of smartphones or is there something else is unclear, but only over the past year, several interesting stories have appeared on Chinese social networks and news sites.

So in the fall of 2017, photos and videos of the so-called "dragon skeleton" found in Zhangjiakou County on the Yanghe River were scattered around the world. The skeleton, which looks very much like a fake fake, had horns and a very long, sinuous body, reaching a length of 18 meters.

And in January 2017, a video of an unusual beast was shown on Chinese TV news. The video was filmed in 2016 at the Ebinur Lake National Reserve. A deer-like creature was captured by the camera trap, but none of their experts could name what species it belongs to.

The Chinese immediately called this creature "Qilin". This is how a half-horse-half-deer with fiery wings is called in Chinese folklore. More educated citizens suggested their version that the footage depicts the endangered species of the deer Gansu Wapiti. There are only about 100 of them in this area or even less.

In August 2017, a video of a mysterious creature filmed on a lake in Yunnan province was widely disseminated on social networks. According to the author of the video, a local monster was filmed, similar in appearance to the Scottish Nessie.

The video shows something forming wide circles in the center of the lake, and then a dark, rounded object appears in the center of the circles and disappears almost immediately. All this is accompanied by cries of surprised eyewitnesses.

The last of the recent sightings of cryptids in China again took place on the lake, and on the famous Kanas Lake, in which obscure large swimming creatures have been observed for many years.

A video of something floating on the lake was posted on the microblogging site Sina Weibo. It is difficult to understand what exactly floats there, but it drives waves, which means that the body under water is quite large.

Critics suggest that very large taimen (fish of the salmon species), which are actually found in this lake and can reach over one and a half meters in length, are mistaken for the Kanas monsters.
