Such a tomb, untouched by robbers, is a rarity in western Mexico. The burial itself was discovered by accident during construction work in a church located in the city center.

A stone-sealed empty space with artifacts and human bones was discovered underground. Examination of the skulls revealed signs of wear and various types of damage. In some skulls, scientists have noted tooth damage.

Together with human bones, 4 ceramic objects were discovered, including 2 figurines that were placed face down. Among the objects found, statuettes of a man (39 cm high and 14 cm wide) and a woman (32 cm high and 14 cm wide) stand out.

Both figures are wearing headdresses, and the "horn" protruding from the headdress of the male figurine suggests that this is a shaman. The shaman has an ax in his hand, and a pot in the woman's hand.

There were a total of 3 levels of burials in the tomb, with offerings consisting of 4 items were found in the second level. Apparently, they were placed there to protect the dead and help them reach the underworld. All artifacts correspond to the Komal period - around 0-500 AD.
