A survey of citizens, which was conducted in June, showed that the average monthly income of 70% of Russians does not exceed 25 thousand rubles, while 45% of citizens' income does not exceed 15 thousand rubles.

In comparison with similar polls conducted before the start of the coronavirus pandemic, writes TASS, the income situation has even improved. Since February, the share of citizens with an income of up to 5 thousand rubles a month has grown from 6.9% to 8.1%, with an income of 5-15 thousand rubles - from 31.2% to 36.5%, and the share of the middle class of Russians with income from 15 to 25 thousand rubles increased from 25.6% to 28.2%.

It is noted that most citizens with an income of 15-25 thousand rubles live in the Khabarovsk Territory (50%), Moscow (43.8%) and Belgorod (41.7%) regions.

The number of respondents with incomes of 25-35 and 25-50 thousand rubles has also decreased since February - from 15.3% to 13% and from 11.5% to 8.5%, respectively. The number of Russians earning 50-100 thousand rubles a month also decreased (from 7.6% to 3.5%).

It is reported that in the course of the survey, one in five Russians reported a "significant" decrease in income during the pandemic, and one in ten reported a complete loss of earnings.

“In the course of the June survey, half of the respondents (50.3%) reported that the level of their income and the income of their family members has not changed since the beginning of the pandemic and the introduction of the self-isolation regime. At the same time, the average monthly income of 19.7% of respondents since March has "significantly" decreased. Another 16.5% of the respondents spoke about a “significant” decrease in the income level of one or several members of their family. Every tenth person lost their earnings completely,”the study says.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov has already reacted to the data provided by Rosgosstrakh, and said that he doubted the correctness of this survey.

He also added that the fight against poverty is a priority for both the president and the entire government as a whole.
