In 1976. off the coast of the Nova Scotia Peninsula (Canada), fisherman Keith Ross and his son Rodney saw a huge sea monster. This sensational news became the property of the entire local press. Forty-two years later, Rodney Ross recounted the story in detail at a recent UFO Festival in Shelburne. Today, Ross said, the creature is tentatively called the "South Side Monster," and although I don't know what I encountered, it did look a lot like a monster.

The beginning of the story of the sea monster

It all started with the fact that a fisherman named Eisner Penny, now deceased, was returning in his boat from the Pollock Shoal fishing area (near the Cape Sable island) and noticed that some large animal was swimming behind him. Frightened, the fisherman increased his speed, but even then he could not get rid of the strange pursuer. And then Penny saw the part of the monster's body protruding from the water, which reached a length of about four meters. The frightened man sent his boat into shallow water - and only then the monster fell behind.

Once on the shore, Penny told the other fishermen what he had seen, but they greeted his words with derision. Two days later Keith and Rodney Ross came out to fish. They hadn’t heard Penny’s story, and so they calmly went to the same fishing area.

Continuation of the story of the sea monster

It was a hazy day, Rodney recalls. We caught more than two hundred kilograms of cod, after which my father went to his cabin for dinner. I stayed on deck because I wanted to try out a new tackle with multiple hooks. There was no cool; suddenly an unusual whistling noise was heard nearby - and I saw something large floating in the fog. At first I thought it was another vessel, but then the object emerged from the cloudy veil - a huge hump, which turned out to be a head, with large, up to ten inches wide, eyes, located approximately like a crocodile. I got scared and called my father; the two of us watched this fantastic creature sail past our boat. Suddenly at some point it looked with its eyes directly at us - and my hair stood on end in horror.

When the monster swam very close, it towered above the water for about three and a half meters, and then opened its mouth wide, in which there were a great many sharp teeth. The body of the monster, or rather the visible part of it, was completely covered with shells adhered to the skin. The total length of this creature was fifteen to eighteen meters, and the head was much larger than the rest of the body. The tail fin is vertical, such as fish, but not whales. We watched this creature for no more than fifteen minutes, during which it several times completely went under the water, and then reappeared. It was practically silent, only wheezing was heard.

While sailing away, the giant fish almost hit the ship, but, fortunately, my father turned on the engine in time and managed to take the boat away from the blow. By doing this, he most likely saved the lives of both of us. It is interesting that, having sailed away from the monster, we met Eisner Penny's boat, who was told about our meeting. In response, he shared his own experience and advised to flee from the monster on the rocks.

Afterword about the sea monster

The three fishermen weren't the only ones to see the sea monster. Literally two days later, Edgar Nickerson (now deceased) and his son Robert, who were working in the same ill-fated Pollock Shoal, met him. The Nickersons spotted the huge animal from afar and did not wait for it to approach them. Later, when the journalists collected the testimonies of all eyewitnesses, it turned out that already in 1934. the local fishermen knew about the giant sea animal.

However, after 1976. no meetings were recorded with him. Where did the "South Side Monster" go? Changed your habitat? Dead? And who exactly was he? According to the description, this creature did not resemble marine dinosaurs and was definitely a fish, not a lizard. Perhaps we are talking about some ancient species that has survived to our time. Today's scientists are more and more inclined to think that such creatures are the product of parallel worlds, since other versions seem to them untenable.
