In February, Israel will exhibit black tomatoes, pitted red lemons, and carrots that combine yellow, pink and purple at the agricultural trade show
According to Israeli media, these and many other inventions of scientists will be presented at an international exhibition-fair that opens in early February.
The new tomato variety was named the Black Galaxy. Tomatoes got their unique color thanks to the use of a pigment based on blueberries.
Israeli experts claim that it is also beneficial for health - it saturates tomatoes with additional amounts of vitamin C and antioxidants.
The organizers of the exhibition also intend to show off pitted red lemons and carrots, which combine yellow, pink and purple colors, purple potatoes, "portioned" watermelons and melons, as well as a new "finger" variety of mulberry.
The exhibition will be held on February 1 and 2 in the south of Israel in the Hatseva moshav. Over 250 companies from all over the world will take part in the exhibition-fair.
