Could the truth turn out to be such that unidentified flying objects (UFOs), which are recorded in various parts of the world, are controlled not by alien and alien races, but by our own descendants from the future?
Ever since the term UFO was first used by the Air Technical Intelligence Center in the early 1950s to refer to objects that, because of their incredible maneuvers or aerodynamic properties, could not be explained or compared with currently known aircraft or types of missiles, people around the world are wondering whether intelligent alien beings can visit our planet on these same UFOs.
But there are also those among UFO researchers who are considering the version that these "flying saucers" are not necessarily controlled by alien civilizations, but by our own descendants who have arrived in our time from the future. These include Dr. Michael Paul Masters, professor of biological anthropology at Montana Technological University, who, in his new book, Identified Flying Objects: A Multidisciplinary Scientific Approach to the UFO Phenomenon, expresses doubt that our planet was once visited by intelligent alien beings, and suggests that rather UFOs are flying objects of our own kind, but only from the distant future.
This theory is not new. And it means that the crews of these UFOs may be time travelers. But this theory was long perceived with skepticism and was considered very unlikely and fantastic. The critics' main argument is that if time travel were at all possible, we would have met these visitors from the future long ago.
Nonetheless, Dr. Masters remains firmly convinced that the creatures that many people have observed during UFO encounters or during "alien abductions" may in fact be time travelers. “We know that we are here. We know that people exist,”he explains. “We also know that we have a long history of evolution and development behind us on this planet. And we know that our technology will be even more advanced in the future. So I think the simplest natural explanation would be that these UFO creatures are ourselves. And I'm just trying to suggest what is probably the simplest explanation."
He also reasons his theory by the fact that perhaps the people of the future visit our time to learn more about their past - to study people today in the same way as we would study extinct animals. It cannot be ruled out that in the future, there might even be a “time tourism” industry that would allow people to spend their holidays in the past. “There is no doubt that in the future there will be those who will pay a lot of money to get a chance to go back in time and see their favorite era in history with their own eyes,” he said.
But if our present does have guests from the future, they seem to be surprisingly good at avoiding our attention, leaving almost no trace of their presence in our time.
