Video: Why Can I See Stars Through The Moon? 2024, May

From time to time, the owners of good telescopes post videos of the waxing or waning moon on YouTube, which clearly show that the darkened half of our satellite, as it were, is transparent: stars are visible through the moon.

We provide only two videos as an illustrative example, but in fact there are dozens, if not hundreds of such videos - just type a transparent moon request on YouTube and the video will flood.

At the same time, there are even experiments with a camera and photoshop: when the official image of the Moon from NASA, people drove through filters and received stars where they should not be:

Flat-Earth and simulation world advocates run around with this fact as a flag that no one can take away. That is, it is convincing to explain why the moon is glass. The question was even asked on special forums where physicists hang out, which acted on them like garlic on vampires - all at once where they scattered to other branches.

Since the topic is not new, we did not particularly touch on it, however, during the recent discussion on this issue at the ameroblogodrome, several interesting questions surfaced that we, to our shame, did not know. More precisely, they knew - but they missed such blatant idiocy. For example:

The figures show jewelry, from which it follows that the Moon is transparent.

And here are some logos, advertising images and other paraphernalia:

Such pictures are very touching, because they are drawn by adult uncles and aunts who know that the moon is opaque. However, they paint the moon like kids:

Now let's turn to such a phenomenon as state flags. Below are the flags of Mauritania, Singapore, Algeria and Pakistan:

And these are not all the flags on which absurdity is drawn. Or, perhaps, this is not absurd at all, because in the same way Google draws the Moon on its front pages:

Thus, and as you can see, the situation with the transparent Moon is somewhat ambiguous. If it was only about logos and flags, everything could be blamed on the artists who decided to fill the empty space. But the problem is that there is no “empty space” on the Moon even when looking through a telescope. And we don't even know how to explain such miracles.

Could the Moon really be made of glass, since ancient astronomers argued that some transparent crystal spheres revolve above the dome of the Flat Earth, to which stars and planets are attached?
