Dissociative identity disorder is one of the rarest mental illnesses. In such disorders, several different personalities live in the same body. Meet Billy Milligan
William Milligan was born in 1955. His first personalities appeared in childhood. But his split personality developed most in his teens, when William was often beaten by his stepfather. In 1975, William was arrested for robbery. Then he got off lightly - he was released on parole two years later. After just a few months, William was again tried - he raped several girls. The court acquitted him. This was the first time a person with a split personality had been acquitted in court. Psychiatrists found out that Billy, as he by that time preferred to call himself, had 24 personalities. They knew about each other's existence and lived like one family.

Arthur Smith is a highly educated Englishman. He refused to take an IQ test, but his brilliant mind is undeniable. Arthur was able to figure out all of Billy's other personalities and establish control over them. He himself decided who was allowed to control the body and even made peculiar laws that all individuals had to obey.
Billy - he was once William. But at the age of 16 he tried to commit suicide, after which Arthur Smith and Ragen Vadaskovinich took control of the body into their own hands.
Reygen Vadaskovinich is a Yugoslav communist. Outrageously strong and concerned with Billy Milligan's physical condition. His IQ is 119.
Allen is a rogue and manipulator. He most often takes control of the body. This is a very gifted person. He is an artist and drummer. His IQ is 120.

All personalities had common character traits. The most interesting thing is that none of the 24 personalities who settled in Milligan's head were schizophrenic!
Billy Milligan was treated for 10 years. And finally, his personalities began to manifest themselves less and less, until they disappeared completely. At least that's what the doctors decided. The rest of Billy's life was successful. He had his own business for some time. The next thing that is known about him is his death in 2014.
Billy Milligan is the most famous of the multiple personality disorder patients. More than one book has been written about him, and the authors were advised by the Teacher. Work is now underway on the Crowded Room documentary, which should be one of the best of its kind.
