In 1985, a diving instructor, Kihachiro Aratake, not far from the coast, literally noticed a stone monument of some huge size on the surface.
Already below, down to the very bottom, there were various platforms, terraces, even stairs and much more.
In general, it would seem that everything indicated that this is an ancient megalithic complex, and of enormous size, which was once flooded, let it be thousands of years ago or tens of thousands, it is not important.
Having discovered the object, the man decided to announce the discovery, which was obviously picked up by all the media, but then it all ended there, no matter how strange it was.
The discovered structure was completely ignored by scientists and historians without answering or even commenting on the huge megalithic complex under water. It was believed that this is a natural formation, and the version of the ancient structure was not even considered.
Later, Professor Masaaki Kimura drew attention to the object, and in 1997, Graham Hancock is a famous writer and supporter of the version of the existence of highly developed civilizations in the past.

In general, after many dozens of diving and research, it was only by 2001 that it was proved that this is not a natural formation, but at least most of it was made by hand.
This has been proven by a variety of facts. For example, in Yonaguni there is a whole wall, almost to the surface of the water, made of basalt blocks of some incredible size.
Also, there are too many ideal geometric shapes, steps and other things that nature, in principle, is not able to create.
In 2001, some scientists also supported the version that this is a trace of an ancient civilization, and a highly developed civilization. But, of course, they did not officially recognize this.
Even later, something amazing was found in Yonaguni, namely, a stone human head measuring 7 meters. It was significantly damaged by time, but the head was processed.
In the end, based on the sea level, a version was put forward that the structure was submerged under water for a long time, and it was built about 10-15 thousand years ago, which is difficult to explain by the official history.
But no one recognized anything, since Yonaguni is still officially considered a natural formation, no matter how funny it is. That is, official scientists simply ignored a lot of facts, still stating that they could not build this for 10-15 thousand years.
In general, everything is the same as in most cases, since this is the fate of many artifacts and even finds of huge sizes, like the megalithic complex (or city) of Yonaguni.
Anything that is difficult to explain by the official history is ignored or simply "lost", after which no one will ever know anything about this or that artifact and object.
