In the Urals, you can find many strange stone structures, most likely of artificial origin - megaliths. The Chelyabinsk region is especially rich in them. It was there that the famous Arkaim fortress was found. But recently, the surroundings of Chelyabinsk have presented more and more mysteries to archaeologists …
So, on the left bank of the Sinara River, above the village of Ust-Bagaryak, Kunashak region, lies the miraculous stone Mahadi-Tash. To this day, it serves as a sanctuary for the local Tatar population. There is a dent on a limestone boulder filled with cracks - according to legend, it was left by Saint Mahadi, who once sat on a stone.
And on the shore of Lake Bolshie Allaki, stone blocks are piled, on one of which eyes, nose and mouth are carved. Handmade is a work or a play of nature, but the face is somewhat reminiscent of the ancient Egyptian sphinx. And there are also traces of cave paintings on the stones: ocher-painted images of some animals, dancing men with horns. According to some researchers, these could be aliens with antennae on their heads.
In the Kartala region, one can come across unusual mounds. From a height it can be seen that the stones are stacked in a certain order. In the center of each kurgan there is a stone embankment, from which two stone "mustaches" - ridge of stones or chains made of steles - extend to the east. Locals nicknamed them "mustache mounds." It is curious that they were built of four stone rocks: granite, basalt, gray ductile slate and white quartzite.
The purpose of these structures is still unclear. In any case, these are not burial grounds: the researchers did not find any burials. Perhaps the mounds are shrines built in honor of the leaders. In shape, they resemble yurts that the Turks placed in the steppe: the central embankment symbolizes the owner, and the "mustache" symbolizes the female and male halves, into which the Turkic dwellings were divided.
One of the mounds was checked with a metal detector for artifacts. Alas - no finds … According to the director of the Archaeological Research Center Sergei Botalov, with the help of "stone ciphers" the ancient tribe simply wanted to leave some coded information as a legacy to descendants. But how to read it?
An even more interesting story happened to an island on Lake Turgoyak, which is called the island of Vera. Once upon a time there lived in a dugout a hermit, a merchant's daughter Vera.
An engineer and amateur archaeologist Vladimir Korolev, whose hobby is to look for megaliths, was the first to notice the oddity: the stone ceiling of the "dugout" weighs at least 17 tons! How did the weak hermit manage to build her home? His suspicions were justified: as a result of archaeological expeditions, traces of ancient buildings and burials were found on the island.

It is unlikely that a huge boulder on "legs" of small stones or a giant stone turtle are a game of nature. They are too "alive", as if they are in motion!
