Many years ago I worked as a teacher in the preschool department of an orphanage for orphans. The kids in my mixed group were quite large then - the youngest was six years old.

Our preschool unit was autonomous. That is, we did not intersect with the older guys. The department occupied the entire first floor of the building - my office, playroom, children's bedroom, catering, sanitary rooms, storage room.

Along the corridor that went past these premises, one could go into a large hall, behind which there was a study area: classrooms, a gym.

The hall was locked from the inside so that a stranger could not get into the department unnoticed. Where, by the way, he could easily get lost.

Once I worked the second shift. It was a gloomy winter evening. My children were engaged in choreography in the farthest hall, while I was sitting in my office and preparing for an open lesson, which was to be held in a few days. Boarding school teachers from the region were going to visit it.

The office door was open. Suddenly, with peripheral vision, I saw a tall male figure in a long black cloak and hat. The man appeared completely unexpectedly (I did not hear any steps) and blocked the doorway with himself.

- One minute! - I turned to the man without looking up. And when after a moment she raised her head, the visitor silently moved along the corridor towards the hall.

- The man! I called. - Where are you going? There is nobody there! I'm listening to you!

In response - not a word. I ran after the guest, but I could not catch up with him. In the twilight she could only dimly distinguish a black hat and a cloak. Finally, I jumped out into the hall and froze in surprise - there was no one there. But he had nowhere to go!

I was so scared that I rushed to the children in horror.

The guys surrounded me. The choreographer dripped me valerian, and the children swarmed around. And then they told such that the valerian had to drink and their teacher.

- Mom! - One of the boys, Vadyushka, stroked my head. - Do not be afraid! He is not evil, he does not offend anyone, he only comes every night and just looks at us.

- How does he look? I asked stammering.

- And so. Leans over the bed and stands. He stands for a little, and then goes to the next bed, - the children began to vying with each other. - This is how it looks like and leaves …

- And the night nurse, she doesn't see him?

- When he comes, she is already asleep.

- Children! - I was indignant. - Why were you silent and didn't tell anyone about it?

- Mom! When this black guy first appeared, he immediately approached Vadik. Vadya was so scared that he wet himself. And when in the morning * I wanted to tell my nanny Katya, she scolded him and said that he had invented it all.

“He came up to me too,” said the eight-year-old Tanya. - But I, too, was so scared that I hid under the blanket with my head and did not crawl out until morning. I was afraid that he would take me with him!

I hugged my kids, hugged me:

- Nothing, guys, tomorrow we'll figure out who this person is!

But, no matter how much I tried to find out the essence of what was happening, I could not find out anything. The night nannies carefully walked away from the conversation, and the rest of the staff, according to them, had not heard anything about the man in black.

The only thing I could do was to go around the entire preschool department with a candle and prayer, sprinkling the premises with consecrated poppy seeds and sprinkling with holy water. And the most amazing thing is that the man in a black cloak and hat disappeared. Unexpectedly and, we hope, irrevocably.
