In Indonesia, near the city of Magelang, on the top of one of the hills in the middle of the forest, there will be one of the most unusual churches in the world. The building was erected in 1990 by Daniel Alamsjah and was to become a house of prayer. Now this building is completely forgotten. It is visited only by tourists and local inhabitants who want to be alone with themselves.

The long-abandoned structure known as the Gereja Ayam (Chicken Church) attracts hundreds of curious tourists and photographers every year. But according to the eccentric creator, the magnificent building is neither a chicken nor a church. Daniel Alamsjah, who worked in Jakarta, 550 kilometers from this place, once received a message from God instructing him to build a prayer house in the shape of a dove.
“Maybe because of my Christian faith, people thought I was building a church. But this is not a church. I was building a meetinghouse … a place for people who believe in God,”said the 67-year-old man.

In 1989, he was walking through Magelang, where his wife's family lives, when he suddenly saw the exact same landscape that appeared in his dreams.
“I prayed all night and the revelation came to me that I must build a meetinghouse on this site,” Daniel describes the incident.
A year later, local landowners offered him 3 thousand square meters. meters of land on Rhema hill for only 2 million rupees or 165 dollars. He immediately agreed.
It took him four years to pay this amount.
The prayer house was helped by 30 residents of a nearby village.
People of different religions, including Buddhists, Muslims and Christians, travel to the remote meetinghouse to worship their gods.
For some time this mystical building was used as a rehabilitation center for children with disabilities, drug addicts and people with mental illness.
The meetinghouse closed its doors in 2000 due to high construction costs, but many people continue to visit this mysterious place in Indonesia.
