This castle is located just 80 kilometers from Lviv. It is considered an architectural monument of the 17th century. The fate of the castle was tragic during the years of Soviet power. At that time, the torture chambers of the NKvedists operated in it, and local old-timers still tell horrible stories of torture of fathers, pregnant women and children, and they were also buried on the territory. They say that at night in the castle walls you can still hear their cries and groans.

3. Palanok (m. Mukacheve, Transcarpathian region)

The woman was addicted to human blood and not only killed for her sake, but also took bloody baths, sacrificing 13-year-old virgins. In addition, allegedly in the rooms of the Mukachevo castle in those days there were special rooms for torture, the walls of which were polished with human bodies.

4. Olesko castle (urban-type settlement Olesko, Lviv region)

The guards of the castle, who have to stay in the building every night, say that they constantly feel the presence of unknown phenomena here at nightfall. Guard dogs also react to strange sounds, shadows and semi-visible silhouettes.

But, they say, lives in the castle and a real ghost - the soul of the gentry Adam Zholkiewski, who was in love with the daughter of one of the owners of the Olesko castle. And, having received his father's refusal to agree to the marriage, the guy in the same place plunged a knife into his heart. However, he was not buried in a cemetery, but simply thrown into a swamp near the castle walls as a suicide.

A soul, whose body was not buried according to custom, hovered between two worlds. Therefore, the translucent spirit of Adam does not leave the castle, groaning and sighing.

5. Serednyansky castle (village Sredny, Zakarpattia region)

Historians believe that the monument was built by monks from the Order of the Templars. It is with this order that the certificate of the connection between the Grail and the Serednyansky castle is associated.

They say that the cup was made from the emerald of the crown of the Archangel Lucifer when he was buried in the walls of this fortress. The fact is that the Serednyansky castle was one of the darkest castles of the Templar order. Therefore, there the monks decided to hide the sacred treasure.

6. Ostrog Castle (Ostrog, Rivne region)

The local medieval castle is no less shrouded in legends. According to one of them, at night the white shadow of the "black princess" - the daughter of the owner of the castle, Prince Ilya Ostrozhsky, Galshka Ostrozhskaya, wanders the castle.

Seeing an enemy camp under the walls of Dubno, the bride became so angry that she fired a cannon and fell into the khan's tent. Surprised by such events, the Tatars lifted the siege of Dubno.

They say that the spirit of Princess Beata still roams the galleries of the ancient castle. Allegedly, she sometimes appears in the form of a lady sitting by the window in one of the halls.

8. Kremenets Castle (Kremenets, Ternopil region)

The most famous legend of the castle is Queen Bona. According to one version, it was she who outlived her two daughters-in-law from the world, whose ancestral origin did not correspond to her political plans. There is evidence that one of them died of cancer, the other was sick with epilepsy, but it is not known if the queen intervened.

The incredible atrocities of Bona Sforza, which are told in the legends, are explained by an agreement concluded with the devil himself. According to her, a woman was to receive eternal youth. It is said that the queen sacrificed virgins for a long time in a cruel way: they were taken to the upper tier of the castle and thrown from there onto sharp stakes. And the ruler bathed in crimson blood, absorbing beauty and youth. Another story is about babies' blood baths.

According to legend, the souls of these innocently murdered children and girls still wander around at night.
