Do we know everything about the history of our planet? What civilizations previously existed before and for what reason did they disappear?
Recently, in the Indian state of Maharashtra, ancient drawings of a civilization unknown to historians were discovered. Thousands of drawings that are located on the hillsides. Many of the drawings were covered with earth and archaeologists had to spend quite a lot of time in order to find the drawings and study them.
To find out at least some information about the mysterious drawings, archaeologists interviewed local residents and it turned out that some of them are familiar to people, and these places are considered sacred at all.
Petroglyphs are found in the vicinity of fifty villages, but only a small number of people have seen these drawings. The drawings are quite varied. Among them are birds and animals, humanoid creatures and strange geometric shapes.
The researchers suggest that the age of the petroglyphs is about 12 thousand years. Experts also note that the found drawings may be some of the oldest on our planet.
It is rather unusual that among the drawings there are images of animals that do not live in modern India and this may mean that some of the tribes came to these territories from other places.

Archaeologists plan to continue researching ancient drawings to try to find answers about the civilization that may have left these petroglyphs.
