Pleskavia, aka the Pskov principality, along with Novogradia (the Novgorod principality), has never actually been a direct vassal of Great Tartary. Moreover, these medieval republics enjoyed complete independence from the time of the weakening of Moscow Tartary, caused by the insane campaign of Batu Khan against Moscow, Kazan and Yaroslavl until the end of the "counter-terrorist operation" led by Prince Smaragd (Ivan the Terrible) in 1570. However, politically, Pskov and Novgorod have always been in the zone of influence of Moscow, which itself was one of the largest subjects of the space called the Great Tartary.

Not so long ago it happened to me to talk with a journalist from St. Petersburg, and I suddenly realized how unfair it is that not only in the secondary school curriculum, but also in the history of universities, there is absolutely no information about an amazing person, a vivid example for modern military leaders and politicians, the pride of Russia, and the whole of Great Tartary - Prince Pleskavia Dovmont.
Our children in schools are cramming fairy tales about the great commanders of the "ancient" Egypt, Greece and Rome. And at home they see fictional characters on the screens: - spiders, ninja turtles, Rambo, NiktU, etc. How is it possible to envy people with fictional characters and not know about their own !? Where are you, officials from education and culture? Why, apart from Alexander Nevsky, no graduate of a modern Russian school can remember ANYONE, even if he wrinkles both his EGEzvilines !?
This wild contradiction can only be explained by one thing: - the deliberate sabotage of "human rights defenders" to distort and cut off the history of our people, which feeds them, gives them water, and dresses them. It is they who teach us to live in Russia, while they themselves have rest, receive treatment, and teach children abroad. They are the ones who fly by helicopter from Moscow to Tver and back to work every day, then they talk on TV screens and the low level of patriotism among the youth.
So let's eliminate the absurdities on our own, since the officials are sick of education. Tell your children about the great Russian politician and warrior.

Dovmont, nicknamed by Christians Timothy, left the estate, only because in his homeland he did not "sanctify" his father's throne, because he had an older brother who was the heir. So he went as a guest worker to the fraternal Pskov republic. You say: - “How so? We know about the constant wars between Russians and Lithuanians! " So I could not understand at first what bothers me so much when studying the events of medieval Pskov.

The whole history of Dovmont's reign is a series of military campaigns and defensive operations, but in addition, he remained in the memory of the Pskovites as a prince-creator, it was under him that ancient Pleskava acquired the architectural features that we see today.

Their descendants still live in Pskov, admire the sunset on the embankment, go to the bowling alley, clubs and the Ice Palace, often not even suspecting that they are “Belarusians”.
The capture of the Rakabor fortress (now Rakvere, Estonia) is considered one of the main military achievements of the Prince.

Here in 1268 the Russian troops of the princes Dovmont, Yaroslav (Dovmont's father-in-law) and Dmitry Yaroslavovich (the grandson of Alexander Nevsky), defeated the Holstein and Pomeranian knights. The valiant Prince won his last victory in the year of his death, on March 5, 1299, on the banks of the Great River, where he defeated a large Livonian army with a small retinue. The knights unexpectedly attacked the posad near Pskov, captured the suburban Snyatogorsk and Mirozh monasteries and burned them, cruelly massacring the inhabitants.
