Just before the beginning of the Battle of Kursk, a huge UFO hovered over the neutral zone between the Russian and German troops. The Soviet command was pretty worried. What it is? A sketch of the object was made, the authenticity of which was certified by the signatures of several colonels who participated in the battle.

In such reports of the military of that time (and there were quite a few of them), one frightening feature was always indicated: UFOs showed some kind of "intellectual interest", but they never took part in battles, did not attack themselves and did not respond to attacks from earthly aircraft. They wedged themselves into air battles, swept over rocky roads, hovered over night crossings. Gradually, ordinary pilots began to treat them calmly. The allies called them "fiery fighters", and the Luftwaffe pilots called them "cabbage heads".

On March 25, 1942, British Air Force captain Roman Sobinsky was returning to England after a night raid on the German city of Essen. Only having risen to an altitude of 5000 meters, the pilot leaned back with relief in his seat to rest. And then the machine-gunner suddenly gave an alarm: the plane was being chased by an unknown apparatus. "Night Fighter?" the captain asked. “No sir. It looks like this is not a plane. I cannot explain its shape, and it glows … ".

Here Sobinsky himself saw an amazing object, which ominously played with yellow-red lights. The pilot's reaction was instantaneous and quite natural for a pilot attacking over enemy territory. He considered it some kind of new diabolical trick of the Germans and ordered to open aimed fire. But, to the surprise of the crew, the incomprehensible device, which had already approached 150 meters to the tail of the aircraft, not only did not respond, but even, attacked by shells, did not receive the slightest damage. The embarrassed pilots stopped firing. After a quarter of an hour, during which the object was flying "in line" with a bomber, it took off like lightning and disappeared at an incredible speed.

A month earlier, on February 26, the cruiser Tremp had been pursued by a UFO for about three hours. The crew said it was "a giant disc, most likely made of aluminum." The mysterious silvery UFO also did not attack the ship, but watched it with interest, without fear of the guns aimed at it. The farewell was traditional - the mysterious device suddenly rushed up at a speed of about 6000 km / h and disappeared.

On October 14, 1943, Allied bombers appeared over the German city of Schweinfurt. Their task was to destroy a strategic facility located there - the largest ball bearing plant in Europe. The air armada was huge: 700 heavy bombers from the US 8th Air Force were escorted by 1,300 American and British fighters.

When the strike group was "ironing", wiping out the plant, a group of large shiny discs suddenly appeared. Strange vehicles approached the American bombers, while it turned out that they came under fierce fire from more than 700 onboard machine guns. American pilots stated that the mysterious "discs without wings" remained intact and, without responding to fire, calmly flew past. On this case, the command was immediately sent a report. It, in turn, asked intelligence to conduct a thorough investigation.

The answer came in three months. It was then for the first time that the famous abbreviation UFO (UFO in Russian) was given and a clear conclusion was made: the disks have nothing to do with the Luftwaffe or with other air forces on Earth. Therefore, research groups were immediately organized in Great Britain and the United States, operating in the strictest secrecy.

Here, looking ahead, we will tell you one curious case. On February 12, 1944, at the secret German base Kummersdorf, in the presence of senior military officials, filming of the launch of one of the first supersonic V-2 missiles was carried out. When viewing this documentary, the affected technicians stated that their missile was accompanied by an "unidentified spherical object" that had a speed of about 2000 km / h and was constantly circling around it! The event caused shock.

However, Hitler and Goering's reaction to this was even more surprising: they were just enraged by the thought that the Allies had managed to launch a "spy apparatus" surpassing the V-2 super-rocket, on which all hopes were pinned …

And there was nothing particularly surprising in this. In Germany, the UFO problem was dealt with earlier. The world's first disk-shaped vertical take-off aircraft was developed by German engineers Schriever and Habermohl and tested in February 1941 at an airfield near Prague. In design, it resembled a recumbent bicycle wheel: a wide ring revolved around the cabin, the role of "spokes" of which was played by adjustable blades. By changing the angle of attack of these blades, it was possible to make the apparatus both take off vertically and then follow horizontally.

Theory was theory, but in practice, the slightest imbalance caused significant vibration and terrible shaking of the car, especially at high speeds, which served as the main cause of accidents. They tried to make the outer rim heavier, but in the end, the "wheel with wing" exhausted its capabilities.

The second, improved, model was named "Vertical aircraft". It differed from the first car in size and engine power. And although the designers promised, if they were successful, to reach a speed of 1200 km / h, this option remained at the level of experimental developments.

It was then, at the end of 1942, in Germany that the so-called "Sonderburo-13" appeared, which attracted the most experienced test pilots and the best scientists of the Third Reich to research. And they coped with their task: they created a disk that left far behind not only all the then, but also some modern aircraft.

This "flying saucer" was made in two versions: 38 and 68 meters in diameter. It was propelled by the "smokeless and flameless" engine of the Austrian inventor Viktor Schauberger. Its principle of operation was based on an explosion, and during operation it consumed only water and air. The machine, codenamed "Disk Belontse", was ringed by an installation of 12 inclined jet engines. They cooled the "explosive" engine with their jets and, sucking in air, created a vacuum region on top of the apparatus, which facilitated its rise with less effort.

Disk Belontse made its first and last demonstration flight on February 19, 1945. In 3 minutes, he reached an altitude of 15 kilometers and developed a speed of 2200 km / h. Brilliant results, considering that the vehicle landed and took off vertically, it could hover in the air and fly in any direction without turning. For landing, it had folding racks. And yet, such a unique terrestrial (!) Device was blown up on Keitel's orders, because the war was coming to an end and there was no time to make any technical changes to the novelty. Although the plant in Breslau, where the "flying saucer" was built, fell into the hands of our troops, it gave nothing. And its creator himself fled safely to the United States. He no longer took up the creation of the disc. He answered the generous promises of the Americans,that before the signing of an international agreement on complete disarmament, nothing can be made public and its discovery belongs to the future.
