In recent years, the Chelyabinsk Region has been attracting more and more attention. Either a meteorite will fall on it, or the world's oldest geoglyph, a huge stone elk, will be found on the territory …

We (and not only us) have already written about the Chebarkul meteorite. This news is quite fresh and has not yet had time to be forgotten. But about the stone elk, discovered just a couple of years ago near Lake Zyuratkul and somehow bypassed by the media, I would like to tell you more.

As you can see in the photo, the giant, stone-built elk figure can only be seen from the air. Therefore, despite the fact that archaeologists have estimated the age of this geoglyph from four to ten thousand years, they "calculated" it quite recently - in 2011.

Today it is the largest (218 by 195 meters) and the most ancient geoglyph. His more detailed studies will begin in the summer of 2013. But already now, scientists have interesting hypotheses regarding this creation of the ancients.

One of them says that this elk is not just an elk, a symbol of a successful hunt, but … the Elk constellation, carefully copied from the sky by ancient people.

Lost constellation

But there is no such constellation - you say. There is Aquarius, Orion, Scorpio …

That's right, there is no such constellation on modern maps, the European southern civilization simply "lost" it. But in the harsh northern Russian sky, this constellation can be found, and quite easily. Elk, according to the researchers of the Zyuratkul find, is represented by six constellations known to us at once: Andromeda, Aries, Pisces, Cassiopeia, Triangle and Perseus. Scientists argue that if these constellations are correctly, let's say, outline, then you will get a spilled elk from the banks of Zyuratkul.

Moreover, the “heavenly” elk (constellation) rose above the “earthly” elk (geoglyph) exactly during the summer solstice. And at night, the constellation was reflected in the waters of Lake Zyuratkul, the shape of the shores of which practically repeats … yes, the same elk! Mirror image only. So if you find yourself in the right place at the right time, you can see four identical moose at once: one - stone, one - star, one - "water" (lake shore) and another "star" reflected in the waters of Zyuratkul. This is the celestial mechanics of the ancients.
