Etymology of the word "Cattle".

From West Slavic, the same root as the verb to be. The original meaning (preserved in Czech bydlo) is "being, state, dwelling." Later in the Polish bydlo the meaning of "dwelling" developed, then - "property, property", and finally (from the XIV century) "livestock" (also diminished. Bydle). In this meaning it was borrowed into the Ukrainian language (beadlo), where it also acquired a figurative meaning “people equated to cattle”. Hence the modern Russian meanings. Some people have a misunderstanding of the word cattle. From this misunderstanding, numerous meanings of this word have come:

  • Cattle
  • The crowd, the rabble, the masses
  • A stupid, rude, uncouth, uncultured person.

But the original meaning of this word is still "cattle". Therefore, when applied to the designation of a crowd of people, the word "cattle" is abusive and shows the obvious absence of each individual member of this crowd of his own, individual opinion. These people have one opinion - the majority opinion. The use of this word to designate a single person indicates the involvement of this person in a large group of people, i.e. he comes from this crowd, comes from this flock. A softer, non-abusive synonym is the words "masses", "crowds". However, the masses are not necessarily cattle. Cattle are masses that represent a swarm. Cattle are thoughtless masses of people.

What is a herd in modern society? The herd is a weak-willed majority that does not want to think with their own heads. The herd is compared to those people who consider themselves to be the majority, roughly speaking, "like everyone else, so am I." Such people do not want and / or cannot think with their own heads and choose the simplest option - "like everyone else." They choose the path of conformism, the path of mediocrity. It turns out that this majority dictates the norms, since those who are not among them are “not normal” for them, “not like everyone else,” “outcast” or “minority”. Such a person is an individual, while it would be wrong to call a representative of the crowd an individual, since there is nothing individual in him - he is like everyone else. Individuality is not expressed in the form of clothing, as many now believe - first of all, it is a different line of thought, a different life position. However, the very fact of conformism does not yet make a person a representative of cattle, it is the absence of intelligence and some stupidity that is important for the cattle.

Many people think they are individual, but they are not. Their "individuality" is instilled in them by various kinds of propaganda and advertising. For example, take the average young woman who considers herself an individual because she is somehow extravagantly dressed. If we take a closer look, we will see that her clothes are just a serial product of some brand, i.e. it is not singular. But this is just a particular primitive example. The main "individuality" of a person from the crowd lies in his consciousness, in hobbies that are very actively offered by various advertisers - this is an imposed specific way of life based on mercantilism - a society of hucksters, a great desire of people to work in trade. The main task and goal of such people is money. But in their pursuit of the golden calf, they forget that money is only a tool, and they are needed to improve the quality of life, and not in order to prioritize the acquisition of various items, investing money in various things, thereby hoping to gain prosperity. This is the worship of the golden calf, money is a shrine for such people. With an increase in money, needs increase, and a person becomes a slave to these needs and is no longer able to change anything.

The main life position of such people is based on careerism. The desire to work not in order to make this world a better place, but in order to earn money, and money, in turn, spend on satisfying their unnecessary needs.

Such people will forget how to think over time, they are just lazy. They become slaves to their needs, and slaves are not supposed to think. This can be seen in the hobbies and interests of such people. The hobby for feasts and drinks is not so bad - you should pay attention to what they are interested in watching TV, surfing the Internet. These are, as a rule, some kind of entertainment programs, videos, stage, etc. They have absolutely no desire to think, to think - and after all, the same TV and the Internet can be used as the acquisition of some kind of knowledge - watching, for example, scientific programs and films. For such people, there are even whole channels - these are TNT and STS, which, among other entertainment channels, are absolutely popular with cattle.

But money is not necessarily the main goal of such people. For some, the goal is to quench their thirst for adventure, celebration, entertainment. In short, they live to have fun, to rest. Life for fun. Ask, but what's wrong with that? And the bad thing is that a constantly resting person is not capable of self-development. When a person watches some gum club on TNT, he is unlikely to think in the near future. When a person sits in a bar, having already consumed a couple of bottles of beer, it is unlikely that any brilliant idea is born in his head. Consequently, such a person does not follow a progressive path, but, on the contrary, a regressive one. He slides into the abyss of degradation and moronism.

This comes from a lot of laziness, from wealth, from the fact that people just stuck in all these McDonald's. Everything, of course, is about taste and color …

The word "cattle" in the modern, erroneous understanding is represented by many in the third paragraph of meanings, i.e. "Stupid, rude, uncouth, without cultured person." They are also called gopniks, namely, one particular gopnik is called cattle. But we must not forget that the Gopniks are not far from the absolute majority, and, in principle, they have a lot in common with it. Gopniks are just a little more boorish than the rest. To refer to such people, you need to use the words redneck or boor, but not cattle. If a person is rude to you, offends, threatens with some kind of reprisal, disdainfully and looks down on you, then he is not a trash - he is a boor or a redneck. At the same time, he may not be a cattle, he may even be a very educated intellectual, but he has great disrespect for you with an emotional tinge, hatred.

Being a representative of the majority as a whole is not bad, however, if you do not have some kind of opinion and position, this means showing weakness of character.

Only a strong person can go against everyone without fear of being spat upon.

I think it's time for us to abandon the boring stereotypes imposed on us by advertisers and start thinking for ourselves, with our own head, and not consume what we are offered, and stop being cattle!
