Varginha is a city in Brazil where some very strange events took place in 1996. This is not an urban legend, but with a high degree of probability a real event, all documents on which were quickly classified.
Officially, Brazil does not admit the existence of this incident, but the details that were leaked at one time were in many major newspapers, including The Wall Street Journal, and were obtained from direct eyewitnesses.
The very first to find out the details of this incident was the American surgeon and ufologist Roger Leir, who visited Varginya shortly after the incident. Then he published the book "UFO Crash in Brazil" (UFO Crash in Brazil).
It all started on January 20, 1996, when local residents began to call the police and anxiously inform them that real aliens are walking in the park. Two aliens were seen, in general they were humanoid, but with a larger head and huge red eyes. There were some growths on their heads, their skin was dark, and they were as tall as 10-year-old children.
The arriving police for an unknown reason immediately opened fire on the aliens and one of them was wounded. For some reason, both of them were taken to an ordinary local hospital after the shootout (they probably just did not know what to do with them and how to treat them), and the nurses and doctors then also told a lot of interesting things. As a doctor, Leir was particularly interested in their stories of the creatures' unusual legs.
In the clinic, the wounded alien was treated, but then both of them were taken with them by the military and they were not seen again in the city.
Among the eyewitnesses who personally saw these creatures were two 14-year-old twin girls Lilian and Valkyrie Fatima Silva and their 22-year-old older sister Katja Andrade Javier. They saw one of the creatures and according to them it was very thin, about 160 cm high, and its legs were really remarkable, because they were in the shape of the letter V.

The creature could hardly move and sit, staggering, so the girls assumed that it was wounded, and then they ran home and told their mother that they had seen the "Devil." The mother did not believe them, but when she went to the place where the creature was, she smelled a strong ammonia smell there. The creature was no longer there, but unusual tracks remained, and the dogs behaved strangely and everyone smelled these tracks.
After the girls and Katya began to tell their friends and family about what they saw, rumors quickly spread throughout the city. At the same time, the story about the police appeared, which shot at the aliens and then took them to the hospital.
Two days later, another strange thing happened. A creature similar in description was seen dead and lying on the side of the road. However, no one had time to look at it, except for one eyewitness, since three army trucks arrived at this place and took this creature.
It remained unclear whether it was the third creature or one of the two that were first seen. Or maybe there were four of them at all, and the fourth is the one whom the girls and Katya saw.
In the days that followed, the locals continued to encounter strange creatures. One of them was allegedly seen at the zoo, the janitor working there told about it. And three animals in this zoo soon died an incomprehensible death.
In the suburbs of Varginy, meanwhile, a large UFO disk was observed. The farmers said that this disk hovered over their field for 40 minutes, and the animals on the farm behaved very restlessly during those minutes.
26 days after the incident, Marco Eli Sherezi, one of the police officers who participated in the attack on the aliens, died for some unknown reason. They said that he had a particularly dangerous infection.
Officially, the Brazilian authorities said that the Fatima Silva sisters saw a sick homeless person, and the military was simply practicing the exercises on schedule. When asked what kind of strange creatures were with the military in the hospital, the answer was given that they were people with dwarfism. But the locals certainly don't believe this.
