Over the past decades, scientists have studied the behavior and thinking of great apes, especially gorillas and chimpanzees. We know that these monkeys can even learn sign language and communicate consciously with humans using it.
However, these creatures are still capable of surprising us. Recently, a wonderful video was published on the Internet (see below), in which a chimpanzee is holding an iPhone.
At the same time, the primate does not just turn the gadget in his hands, he consciously understands what he is doing, carefully scrolling the list of media files with his finger and knowing how to switch modes and enlarge a single picture.
In a one-minute clip, this quick-witted chimp also watches a video of another chimpanzee playing with a human.
The video was originally posted on his Instagram by Miami resident Mike Halston, who works in the animal welfare society. True, the name of the chimpanzee and where exactly this video was filmed is not specified.
Tweeted JD Darkin of Queens, New York, commented on the video that he gets anxious when he sees how smart the monkey is. And many other commentators agreed with him.
Promotional video:
The realization that chimpanzees can master a technique that many of our grandparents often fail to do is really suggestive that they may be much smarter than we thought, and that we still don't know a lot about them.
